Hypersonic passenger plane can fly from London to New York in less than two hours through SPACE

Future generations of air travellers could one day fly from London to New York in less than two hours instead of six if this stunning passenger plane is ever built.

Long-distance flights on the concept supersonic/hypersonic aircraft, called Paradoxal, would be a life-changing experience, as they would include a trip through sub-orbital space at a speed of Mach 3.

Flight times between distant parts of the globe would be slashed to just a few hours and passengers would be able to take in the stars and sights below like never before.

The aircraft would be so fast that it would be able to fly from Los Angeles to Sydney - a flight that currently takes an agonising 15 hours - in less than three hours.

Protests Erupt in Colombia Following Savage Rape and Murder of 7-Year-Old Girl

Protests have sparked after the brutal rape and murder of a 7-year-old indigenous, Colombian girl who was found dead in an apartment earlier this month in one of the country’s affluent neighborhoods.

Yuliana Andrea Samboni was reportedly kidnapped December 4 while playing with her brothers in the poor neighborhood of Bosque Calderon Tejada. A man driving an SUV snatched the girl in a moment captured on surveillance video.

The suspect, Rafael Uribe, a 38-year-old architect, has been charged with aggravated femicide, kidnapping, torture and “violent sexual intercourse."

Authorities say Uribe allegedly took Yuliana to his family's luxurious apartment, where he sexually abused and tortured the girl before strangling her. Her body was found under a hot tub on the terrace of the apartment, according to reports.

Uribe and one other person tried to cover up the heinous crime, reports said. Uribe was later arrested in the hospital where his brother reportedly checked him in for a "drug overdose."

Since the murder, protests have been held across the country out of fear that Uribe, who is reportedly a known socialite, will use his influence to avoid accountability.

'We're drawing very different conclusions': The FBI and the CIA can't agree on the motives of Russian hacks

The CIA and the FBI seemingly can't agree over why Russian hackers targeted the inboxes of prominent Democrats and Democratic organizations in 2016.

In a secret assessment — the content of which has been leaked to the press via high-level officials briefed on the intelligence — the CIA revealed that the Russians were working toward a specific goal: "to help get Trump elected."

The assessment said Russia was not just trying to undermine confidence in the US election process when they hacked into the emails of Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, and the Democratic National Committee.

"It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected" a senior US official briefed on the CIA report told The Washington Post. "That's the consensus view."

Bomb blast kills dozens at Cairo Coptic church

A bombing at Cairo’s largest Coptic cathedral killed at least 25 people and wounded 49, many of them women and children attending Sunday mass, in the deadliest attack on Egypt’s Christian minority in years.

The attack comes as President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi fights battles on several fronts. His economic reforms have angered the poor, a bloody crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood has seen thousands jailed, whilst an insurgency rages in Northern Sinai, led by the Egyptian branch of Islamic State.

The militant group has also carried out deadly attacks in Cairo and has urged its supporters to launch attacks around the world in recent weeks as it goes on the defensive in its Iraqi and Syrian strongholds.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but exiled Brotherhood officials and home-grown militant groups condemned the attack

Anthony Joshua beats Eric Molina to retain IBF heavyweight title

Anthony Joshua emerged victorious in the fight against Eric Molina after only three rounds, with Anthony dominating the fight in all the rounds.

All through the fight Eric was mostly on the defensive and rarely succeeded in throwing a punch, making the fight look like a mismatch. 

It ended halfway into the third round with Anthony knocking Molina to the canvas with several punches. The referee stepped in then to end the fight.

Moments after the win, Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, brought Wladimir Klitschko into the ring to announce that he will be fighting Anthony Joshua on April 29^th at Wembley Stadium.  It is believed that this fight will be the toughest so far for the Nigerian born British boxer, considering Klitschko’s numerous years in the ring.

Klitschko’s defeat to Tyson Fury at the end of last year came as a surprise to most, including to Klitschko. No doubt this fight with Joshua will be seen by Klitschko as a way to redeem himself and this makes the fight all the more intriguing. Joshua on his part seems confident about the fight and he expressed this in his speech to his audience;

 “Klitschko wants his belts back, may the best man win. I focus on myself, that's how I beat Wladimir Klitschko.

It has been reported on Monday that the battle for Aleppo was nearing its end after over five years of bloody civil war.

Sky News cited the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, saying the rebels had retreated from the remaining six neighbourhoods, clearing the way for a government reclamation of the city.

Forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and backed by Russian air support have been making steady gains in the city for several months, slowly pushing from the west into the opposition-held east. 

Since the war broke out five years ago, 250,000 people have been trapped in the besieged city, thousands more have died, there are no more working hospitals, and airstrikes have left ancient mosques and homes under blankets of dust and rubble.

The city is a shell of its former self.

Looking at photos of the city before and after the war serves as a sobering reminder of the catastrophic consequences of the conflict.
