The first US passenger flight to Cuba in over 55 years just landed

For the first time in more than 50 years, an American airline provided a passenger flight to Cuba.

This historic flight took place this morning from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and arrived in Santa Clara, east of the capital Havana. The successful flight took an estimated 51 minutes.

According to a New York Times report, JetBlue's executive vice president Marty St. George explained that a propeller plane was used the last time a US airline regularly scheduled flights to the communist country.

Woman Who Says Chris Brown Pulled Gun Speaks Out

At some point, Chris Brown will surrender to police on suspicion that he pulled a gun on a woman who was a visitor at his home early this morning. But probably not until the cops — who have already found a gun on his property —  get a warrant.

More ugly warning signs are popping up in Saudi Arabia

A bunch of warning signshave been bubbling up in Saudi Arabia's economy over the past few months.

The Saudi economy grew at just 1.5% in the first quarter compared to the prior year, its slowest rate since 2013. And while the oil sector grew by 5.1% year-over-year, the non-oil sector shrank by 0.7% - the weakest reading in at least five years.

Moreover, output in the construction sector shrank by 1.9% year-over-year in July.

And, most recently, a note from Al Rajhi Capital pointed out that the Saudi Interbank Offered Rate, or Saibor, has nearly tripled - to about 2.3% from less than 0.8% - over the past year and is now facing a "liquidity squeeze in the market."

But over the last few days, a couple of other signs have emerged that economists are keeping an eye on.

These photos show the desperate daily plight of migrants trying to enter Europe

Europe's migrant crisis is getting worse. The wave of poverty, political strife, civil wars, and religious persecution in countries in Africa and the Middle East has driven thousands of civilians to seek refuge in Europe.

While the largest number of migrants traveling by boat hail from war-torn Syria, migrants from Eritrea form the second largest group, according to numbers compiled by The Economist. Eritrea's government is reputed to be a repressive regime "where individuals are routinely arbitrarily arrested and detained, tortured, disappeared or extrajudicially executed," according to a UN Human Rights Council report.

Libya is also seeing a flurry of people leaving its shores as the country faces its own political crisis.

On Monday, thousands of migrants — mostly from Eritrea — were rescued at sea, 13 miles away from Libya. These photos show just how dangerous the journey across the Mediterranean is for those who attempt to cross it.
