The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee grilled the FBI director on Thursday about his decision to recommend that Hillary Clinton not be charged over her mishandling of classified information.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Republican from Utah, asked FBI Director James Comey point-blank if Clinton lied during the investigation of her emails. He also said Congress would send a referral to the FBI to investigate whether Clinton lied under oath about her handling of classified information.
Clinton, who is now the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, has come under fire for using a private email server while she was secretary of state.

Justice Department Closes Hillary Clinton Email Probe With No Charges

The Justice Department’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email setup has been formally closed without any criminal charges, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Wednesday.
The decision had been expected and was largely a formality given FBI Director James Comey’s recommendation a day earlier against any prosecution. Even before Comey’s public statement, Lynch had said she intended to accept the recommendations of the FBI director and of her career prosecutors.

Cops have detained a woman they are calling a “person of interest” in connection with a stabbing that left a Harlem mom dead and her daughter seriously injured early Tuesday, officials said.
The violence erupted just after 2 a.m. in a building on Lenox Ave. near W. 115th St.
Police said neighbors in the building were arguing, and the female resident of one apartment suddenly pulled a knife and attacked the two victims.
The 38-year-old mom was stabbed in the chest, and her 21-year-old daughter suffered wounds to the chest and one arm.
Paramedics took the two women to Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, where the mom could not be saved. Her daughter was listed in stable condition early Tuesday.
The woman now held by cops has not been charged.
