SHEHU SANI: I NEVER MADE ANY STATEMENT AGAINST AMAECHI

My attention has been drawn by a close friend to a statement against Rt Hon Rotimi Ameachi,Minister of Transport, credited to me.
The statement is nothing but absolute falsehood and a complete fabrication of those who authored it.I have never made such a statement and there is no reason to.
My views on local, national or international issues are always posted and pasted on my blog or social media handle of which there is none of this. Those who want to fight "wars they need to fight" should have the courage to do so and not hide behind someone to fire their bullets.
I advice those mischief makers to stop using my name and desist from engaging in such defamatory and libelous statements against the Hon Minister.
Again,I'm restating that the statement is nothing but a thrash of falsehood.
Thank you
Sen Shehu Sani

Very hot drinks 'probably' cause cancer: UN body

Very hot drinks 'probably' cause cancer: UN body
PARIS — Drinking very hot beverages "probably" causes cancer of the oesophagus, the United Nation’s cancer agency said on Wednesday (June 15), while lifting suspicion from coffee if consumed at "normal
serving temperatures".
"These results suggest that drinking very hot beverages is one probable cause of oesophageal cancer and that it is the temperature, rather than the drinks themselves, that appears to be responsible," said Dr Christopher Wild, director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
The agency reviewed more than 1,000 scientific studies on the possible cancer-causing properties of coffee and the popular South American herbal infusion mate.

Fake doctor runs Abuja hospital for 10 years undetected

Investigations by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) led to police arresting a man who ran a private hospital for 10 years in Gwarimpa area of Abuja, where he offered surgeries and antenatal care, using forged certificates.
Victor Moffat Akpan was the owner of Luna Maternity & Surgery, an outfit he opened in 2006 as a “surgeon” using a forged practice licence—four years after MDCN refused to grant him licence to practice as a homeopath.
He's understood to have delivered by caesarean section a set of conjoined twins who later died at National Hospital in 2013.

Chinese supermarket where Nigerian shoppers are denied entry

The management of a Chinese supermarket in Gwarinpa area of Abuja has said Nigerians are denied entry into the premises allegedly because of their nefarious activities.
The management however said Nigerians are allowed to enter the supermarket individually and not in group.
The supermarket, which is situated at 9 Bauchi Street, War College Estate, Gwarinpa, is a residential building turned supermarket and without a name with only a Chinese decoration on the gate.
Our reporters were also denied entry as the gateman, simply called ‘Maxwell’ said they were more than one.
“You can only be allowed in if you are accompanied by policemen, because you are more than one” he said.
