Woman: I was a hostage and raped six times a day in remote Alaska cabin

 story
A woman told police an abductor raped her up to six times a day while she was held captive over a five-week period in rural Alaska, with the last attack committed as she heard a military evacuation helicopter landing near the man’s remote cabin to take her to a hospital.
The woman said Daniel Selovich, who goes by the nickname Pirate, used duct tape to bind the two together at night and placed a rope around her neck so she couldn’t run away, Alaska State Trooper Matthew Iverson wrote in an affidavit.
She said, “It would be better for her to run away from the cabin and possibly be eaten by a bear than continue being physically and sexually assaulted by Daniel,” Iverson wrote.
Selovich was arraigned this week on kidnapping, sexual assault and assault charges in Fairbanks Superior Court. No pleas were entered. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Nov. 20. Calls to the Public Defender’s Office in Fairbanks, which is representing Selovich, weren’t immediately returned.

Jihadi John 'associate' believed to be one of the British prison guards nicknamed 'The Beatles' is held in Turkey

Aine Davis, (left) originally from Hammersmith, poses with weapons in Syria
A suspected associate of British ISIS leader Jihadi John has been held by authorities in Turkey.
Aine Davis, originally from Hammersmith, is thought to have operated as a guard at an ISIS prison holding foreign hostages in Syria.
He was also the jihadi at the centre of a sensational court trial last year which saw his wife, Amal el-Wahabi, jailed for funding terrorism while university student Nawal Msaad, 27, was sensationally cleared of trying to smuggle £16,000 in her underwear to Syria.

De La Hoya to Mayweather: 'As for your fights? We've already forgotten them'

Oscar De La Hoya, the Hall of Fame fighter whose Golden Boy Promotions has become one of boxing's leading promoters, shredded Floyd Mayweather in an open letter, saying that he was "boring" and that "the fight game will be a better one without you in it" in the wake of his recent retirement.
In the letter, which appears in the December edition of Playboy magazine, De La Hoya took all kinds of shots at Mayweather, the former pound-for-pound king who retired following his expected rout of Andre Berto on Sept. 12.
"You did it. You made it to the 49-0 mark, a milestone that you like to say only the great Rocky Marciano reached but that was actually achieved by others, including my idol Julio Cesar Chavez -- but who's counting," De La Hoya wrote. "And now you're retiring. Again. (The first time was after our fight in 2007.) This time you say it's for real. You're serious about hanging up the gloves. On to bigger and better things. So I'm writing to you today to wish you a fond farewell. Truth be told, I'm not unhappy to see you retire. Neither are a lot of boxing fans. Scratch that. MOST boxing fans. Why? Because the fight game will be a better one without you in it."

Khloe Kardashian Says Lamar Odom Is 'Off Of All Machines,' Still Has A Long Road Ahead

Khloe Kardashian just released her memoir, Strong Looks Better Naked, and the reality star is starting to make certain press appearances for her new book. Kardashian canceled her book tour after her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, was hospitalized in October.
In an interview with Terri Seymour on "Extra," the 31-year-old opened up about Odom's health and his road to recovery.
"Every day is better. He's off of all machines that ... he is alive on his own, and no machines are helping him, which is great. But, he still has a lot of physical and cognitive therapy to go through, so it’s a long road for him," said Kardashian.
Though she admits some days are better than others, Kardashian told Seymour that Odom will be able to leave the hospital as soon as he can walk.
