Khadija Khatoon Khadija, 21, from Kolkata, West Bengal, Eastern India, was born without a face and her mouth is a small slit on the left side of her face. When she was born, concerned doctors were baffled by her condition for months. Although it has never been confirmed, they believe she has a form of neurofibromatosis, a rare deformity that causes tumours to grow along nerves. Medics told Khadija and her family there was nothing they could do after extra skin continued to grow out of control.

'Russia is sending a message' to Syrians under ISIS control — and it's making more join the terrorist group
On November 3, Russia carried out a series of heavy air strikes against ISIS's de facto capital of Raqqa, Syria. The strikes, Reutersreports — citing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights — killed 42 people, including an estimated 27 civilians.
Although the strikes were seemingly aimed against ISIS, they also damaged a hospital and two bridges. This information came from activist Abu Ibrahim Raqqawi of Raqqa, Syria. He's from the group Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently, and he relayed the info to Business Insider over Skype.
The hospital and the bridges — which Raqqawi said are symbols of the city and a source of local pride — are used by ISIS and local civilians. The strikes, Raqqawi said, were meant as a threat.

3 Israelis wounded after back-to-back shootings in Hebron: military
Hebron, West Bank — Back-to-back Palestinian shootings Friday wounded three Israelis, two of them seriously, the military said.
The attacks signaled an escalation after a series of Palestinian stabbings and widespread stone-throwing that marked the current round of confrontations with Israel.
Israeli media said the wounded were teens between the ages of 16 and 19.
Earlier Friday, Israeli troops shot and killed a 73-year-old Palestinian woman in what the military said was an attempt to attack them with her car. Her son denied she tried to harm anyone, and that she was on her way to lunch with her sister when she was killed.
