A terrified little girl was locked in a wardrobe for five years by her own parents so she could be used as a sex slave to satisfy their twisted desires. Lauren Kavanaugh was banned from eating, tortured and raped nightly by her mother and step-father.
According to UK Mirror, Lauren's childhood was spent living captive in a 4ft by 9ft closet from the age of three, separated from her brothers and sisters and the rest of the world.

When she was pulled from the tiny cupboard aged eight, she weighed just 25.6 pounds - the same as the average two-year-old. The evil paedophiles called Lauren their 'little secret' – only bringing her out to rape and torture her – but were caught when they showed her off to a horrified neighbour who alerted police. Lauren Kavanaugh was banned from eating, tortured and raped nightly by her mother and step-father.

She was rushed to surgery where she was fitted with a colostomy bag, but her organs were shutting down. Lauren, now a 21-year-old student, is bravely speaking out about her horrifying ordeal so she can help other survivors of sexual abuse.

“One day mum was so sick of me sobbing,  she grabbed my arm and told me,  get into the closet. I was huddled in there for hours under a rail of dresses and shirts. I thought it was  punishment. There was no water or food,  just darkness.”

 Lauren recalled later being pulled out of the closet and raped. She was only three years old.

“They put country music on blaring to hide my screams,"After hours of abuse, I was bundled back into the closet, confused and in agony. From then on, it became my new home.I couldn’t do anything in the darkness. I slept in there and had to use it for the bathroom. The carpet was drenched in urine and I lay under a thin, wet blanket.”

 Lauren was tortured and burnt with cigarettes.While she endured endless days of misery and horror, she could hear her brothers and sisters laughing and playing outsise, who weren't abused.

She said: 

“I was weak from hunger and was tied down so I couldn’t fight back.I had to eat anything I could find in the closet.I was only let out for torture. One day, mum ran me a bath and pushed my head under water. When I was six mum put a bowl of macaroni cheese in front of me. She told me I could chew it – but then had to spit it out.”

After being rescued in 2001, Lauren Sabrina and Bill Kavanaugh adopted her – but her early trauma had a lasting impact and she would hide food for later, worried it would vanish.

She did not even know how to play with toys.
She also had the mental age of someone much younger and would try and sleep in her wardrobe every night.
“The first time I saw grass I was eight and I thought it was biting my feet,” she said.
“When I had baths I would yell, ‘don’t drown me.’"

Strong: Lauren, now 21, has recovered from her ordeal and is now helping other victims of sexual abuse 

Lauren returned to school and completed her exams.

She now supports other victims of sexual abuse.

Her mother Barbara Atkinson and stepfather Kenny Atkinson, from Dallas, Texas, were convicted of abusing Lauren in 2002 and jailed for life.

They are not eligible for parole until 2031

Honda fined $70M for not reporting 1,700 death and injury complaints spanning a decade

The Obama administration is fining Honda $70 million for not reporting to regulators some 1,729 complaints that its vehicles caused deaths and injuries, and for not reporting warranty claims.The fine marks the largest civil penalty levied against an automaker.The Japanese company acknowledged in November that it failed to report the death and injury complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration over an 11-year period beginning in 2003. Honda admitted it learned of the omissions in 2011 but had waited three years to take action.

The air bag inflators can rupture after a crash and injure occupants with shards of metal.Foxx said information about Honda's failure to disclose the death and injury complaints also has been forwarded to the Justice Department. The Center for Auto Safety, a consumer watchdog group, called for a criminal investigation of Honda after the company's failure to disclose the complaints became public.

Phylicia Rashad: Stop Before You Attack Her– Bill Cosby Could Be Anybody

I am very dismayed by the attacks I’m seeing on Phylicia Rashad. She spoke to me reluctantly, and did not want to become part of the media grinder. She was defending her friend, and I encouraged her. Frankly, no matter what Gloria Allred, Janice Dickinson or Beverly Johnson says, everything leveled at Bill Cosby is just an allegation. There are no police records, no arrests, convictions, trials, etc.

This doesn’t mean I think he’s innocent or not guilty. (Just watch the vultures turn this way now.) But Bill Cosby deserves a defense from his friends if they choose to give one. Not only that, but Phylicia Rashad is no dummy. Some accused her of trying to save her residuals from The Cosby Show. That’s insane. There is no financial motivation. Rashad is a smart woman. She is allowed her opinion. Give her credit for defending someone she knew for a dozen years at the height of his fame.

Something I didn’t tell you– Phylicia has been asked to play Michael B. Jordan’s grandmother in “Creed,” Ryan Coogler’s updated “Rocky” movie. This means she’s Apollo Creed’s widow. What coup for Coogler and producer Irwin Winkler. Rashad has a Tony Award for Best Actress in “A Raisin in the Sun”– the 2004 production that featured Sean Combs. She is a highly regarded dramatic actress, up there with Rosemary Harris and Angela Lansbury (not as old, certainly) and Janet McTeer– in the top tier.

I do think if Meryl Streep or Glenn Close had said the same things about Bill Cosby, no would have dared criticize them.

And for those celebrities that have: just think what would happen if allegations started pouring out of the wood work about you. Regardless of truth. To be tried in public, and ruined, is something so easily done to anyone. I looked at stories about Steve Kroft today and winced.
