There are reports from one of the polling stations that an unidentified man attempted to snatch a ballot box but luck run out for him when voters pounced on him and beat him severely.

It is not readily known in which constituency this happened.

Ellen DeGeneres Again Targeted By One Million Moms For JC Penney Christmas Ad

One Million Moms is once again going after Ellen DeGeneres.

Last February, the conservative group — a project of the American Family Association – called for JC Penney to fire DeGeneres as its spokesperson because she’s openly gay.

Now, the organization has renewed its campaign against the TV personality after JC Penney began airing a new Christmas ad featuring DeGeneres.

One Million Moms wrote on its website on Tuesday, “Since April, JC Penney’s has not aired Ellen DeGeneres in one of their commercials until now,” adding, “A new JCP ad features Ellen and three elves. JCP has made their choice to offend a huge majority of their customers again.”

“Christians must now vote with their wallets,” continued the statement.

Last March, the group dropped its protest against DeGeneres after JC Penney expressed its continued support for the comedienne.

At the time, the host responded to the attack on her talk show, saying “haters are my motivators.”

Prince William & Kate Middleton Release Statement After Hospital Worker’s Suicide

A hospital worker, Jacintha Saldanha, committed suicide after two shock DJs pulled an awful prank on her. The DJs pretended to be the Queen and Prince Phillip and asked to speak to the Duchess. Saldanha was helping out at the reception desk and fell for the joke so she switched the line to a nurse who divulged personal, medical information to the shock DJs and was found dead earlier today. The nurse was found unconscious at the hospital she works for at about 9:30 this morning. The Austrian shock DJs have since quit and released a statement saying that they are sorry for the actions they took. Read what the Price and Duchess said below.

A representative for Prince William and Kate Middleton, who is in the hospital for severe morning sickness, said they were “deeply saddened” by Saldanha’s death, along with “Their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha’s family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.” Saldanha was a mother of two children.

Man Allegedly Kills Pregnant Lover

In recent time, the reports about men and violent, unexplainable acts towards women seems to be on the rise.
Just last week, I reported how a man, for reasons yet unknown bathed his estranged lover with acid. Now, another report by PUNCH reveals how another man reportedly killed his lover somewhere in Ayobo, Ogun state.
According to PUNCH:

The family of a lady, Gloria Akpan, has accused their daughter’s lover, Ita Eyo, of killing her in his residence in Ayobo area of Ogun State.

Gloria and Eyo both from Akwa Ibom State had been cohabiting since March 2012 before the sad incident occurred on November 3. The lady was six-month pregnant before she died.

A family source, who craved anonymity, said when he spoke to Gloria on Friday, a day before her death, she told him that all was well, adding that it was shocking to learn that she had died the next day.
The source said, “Without seeing any member of the family, that same Saturday, they hurriedly buried her.
“This is suspicious. The information we got was that she was strangled as she bled through her nose and mouth.”
Father of the deceased, Mr. Edet Akpan, 66, a retiree of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, corroborated the family source, insisting that his child was murdered.
Akpan said amid sobs, that Eyo, had in March this year asked for his daughter’s hand in marriage.
He said it was a transport operator, simply called Akintunde that brought Eyo to their home at NDLEA Compound at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
Expectedly, Akpan said during the meeting, he told Eyo to come with his people when they were ready.
Akpan said, “After that meeting, I travelled to my country home in Akwa Ibom. Since I have retired, I have been alternating between home and Lagos.
“While I was still in my hometown, my wife, Gloria’s stepmother, phoned me. She said my daughter had moved out of the house. I exclaimed, ‘move to where?’ She said she had gone to Eyo’s house.
“She also said it was Eyo’s friend, Akintunde that came to take her to the place.
“The news jolted me and I had to rush back to Lagos. When I came back, I set out to search for her whereabouts but my effort was unsuccessful as I neither knew the address of Akintunde nor Eyo’s.”
He said he later got Akintunde on the phone.
Akpan said when he called Akintunde, Eyo and Gloria were with him.
He said, “When I got Akintunde on the phone, he handed the phone over to Eyo. After quarrelling with Eyo, I asked him to pass the phone to Gloria and he did.
“Gloria told me she was well and assured me that she would come home soon. I even asked of my grandson whom she took along with her and she said he was okay.”
Akpan lamented that instead of his daughter coming back home, the news he got the following day was that she had died.
He said, “On Saturday, Akintunde and a woman, came to inform me that my daughter had died. I was confused. I took them to my elder brother’s house. My elder brother asked them to deposit her corpse in the mortuary for further action.
“The same day, I asked my son to go to Eyo’s house. My son told me that they had buried my daughter. This was done without the knowledge of any member of the family. We find the development curious. This is somebody he was not married to. That is why we believe my daughter was murdered for some sinister purposes.”
He said another reason he suspected Eyo was culpable in his daughter’s death was the account of an eyewitness, Gloria’s son, who was living with them.
Akpan said his grandson, who Gloria had for another man, told him that on the fateful day, Eyo and his mother had a disagreement resulting in Eyo pulling something out of the bed and hitting her several times before she died.
He said he headed for a nearby police station in Ikeja, Lagos where they detailed three policemen to arrest Akintunde.
He said with the aid of the policemen, Akintunde took them to Eyo’s house in Ayobo, Ogun State.
He said when they got to Ayobo, it was discovered that that the part where Eyo lives is within the jurisdiction of Ogun State Police Command.
From there, he went to Itele Police Station in Ota, Ogun State where some policemen were detailed to arrest Eyo.
He said Eyo was currently being held at Itele Police Station.
He appealed to the relevant authorities to bring the killer of his daughter to justice.
A police source at Itele Police Division said the Commissioner of Police, Ogun Command, had directed that the matter be taken to the state Criminal Investigation Department.
The source, who did not want his name mentioned, said the Divisional Crime Officer confirmed that the suspect was still being detained.
However, he said the father of the deceased had refused to show up, stressing that the suspect claimed he (Akpan) consented to the burial of his daughter.
“The matter is a murder case; the suspect is still being detained. The Commissioner of Police has directed that the matter be taken to the SCID, Abeokuta,” the source said.

Woman Beats Son To Death For Not Learning The Quaran, Burns Corpse

                                                                     
A British jury on Wednesday found a mother who beat her seven-year-old son to death for failing to learn the Quran by heart guilty of murdering him and burning his body to hide the evidence.
33-year-old Sara Ege, a mathematics graduate from India, treated her son Yaseen Ali like a “dog”, beating him with a stick when he failed to memorize religious texts.


Yaseen died in July 2010. It was initially thought that he had been killed in a fire at the family home in Pontcanna, Cardiff, but tests later revealed that he was dead before the blaze began.
Ege denied killing her son, but blamed her husband instead. Yousef Ege, 38, was later cleared of failing to prevent the death of his son.
Sara Ege confessed to the murder, but later retracted the confession saying she had been forced into it by a threat of violence from her husband and his family.
Ege was found guilty of murder and of perverting the course of justice, and will be sentenced next year.
In her confession, which was recorded by police and shown to the jury, Ege detailed how her son had collapsed on the day of his death still murmuring extracts from the Koran, the holy book of Islam.
She described undressing Yaseen when he collapsed and soiled himself, then dragging him to the kitchen to feed him milk.
The child was left lying naked on the kitchen floor still reciting extracts from the Koran as she poured him the drink.
He took only a few sips before his mother dragged and pushed him to his bedroom and told him to get dressed.
When he proved incapable she dressed him herself and left him on a rug by his bed, claiming she believed he had fallen asleep.
Ten minutes later she returned to find Yaseen shaking and shivering on the floor and gulping a final breath before dying.
Ege decided to burn his body and went to fetch barbecue gel from the kitchen. She told police she decided to destroy his corpse because “I was too nervous”.
She claimed she could not stop herself beating her son and repeatedly pledged to God that she would not do it again, but her good intentions only lasted a few days.
The court heard how, after she was charged with murder, Ege had what appears to have been a breakdown and was sent to a psychiatric unit for several months. At various times she claimed to have been motivated by voices from the devil. Indeed.

Man Smuggles Cobra On Plane, Causes Emergency Landing

                                                            
90 passengers aboard an Egypt Air flight from Cairo to Kuwait were shocked earlier in the week when a snake reportedly bit a Jordanian man who smuggled the reptile onboard.
According to an Egypt Air official, the 48-year-old passenger, who owns a reptile shop in Kuwait, decided to hide the Egyptian cobra in a carry-on bag. Things went awry when the passenger tried to control the snake after it bit his hand and started slithering under the seats.
The incident forced the pilot to make an emergency landing in the Egyptian resort town of Al Ghardaqa on the Red Sea, according to The Jordan Times.
The Egyptian daily al-Masry al-Youm reported that the man refused medical treatment, claiming his wound was only superficial. The plane resumed its flight to Kuwait after local authorities confiscated the snake.
