Man Sets Live-in Lover Ablaze in Ikotun *Viewer Discretion Advised*

A 35-year-old lady yesterday told how her live-in lover poured fuel on her and set her ablaze in Ikotun area of Lagos State.

The lady, Janet Udegba said her lover, Mr. Kehinde Adesamuye, 39, set her on fire because he was angry and jealous over her relationship with other men. She said she was at the Junction where she does her business of selling cooked Indomie before kehinde came that night, poured petrol on her and lit it with fire.
Janet however says Nigerians should not let kehinde go scot free with what he has done to her. Janet narrates how it all started…

‘’My husband has always been jealous. He used to beat me every time, under any guise and excuse.

I’ve tried several times to leave him, but he always threatens to harm me. I stayed with him because I was afraid of him and my life. He always told me that I could never escape from him, except I leave Lagos State. Anytime I said I was leaving him, he would say, no problem, but that he would do something to me which I would not forget. Now, see what he had done to me. He wanted to kill me.

“I used to sell indomie at Ikotun round about. There are other men and women selling there too. We’re all friends. Last two weeks Friday, one of the traders had a baby. We went for the naming ceremony. Kehinde was there with me. One of the traders gave me a drink; I just took a sip because I was in my flow.

“That was how it all started. He said I was kissing another man in his presence. He said that I sipped from the bottle that the man drank from. Right there, he started threatening that he was going to deal with me when we get home.

To be on the safe side, I called my younger sister, telling her that I might come over to spend the night at her place. I didn’t want him to beat me. When we got home, he cursed, abused and said all sort of things, but I didn’t respond or reply because I didn’t want him to pounce on me. This behaviour continued till Saturday. He even kicked off the bed, but I didn’t mind. I slept on the floor.

When I woke up on Sunday, he had gone out. I rushed to take my bath because I wanted to leave the house before he came back. But he suddenly came back, and started beating me for no reason. He beat so much that I thought he was going to kill me. It was due to the intervention of our landlord that he left me. After that beating, I moved in with my younger sister.”

Government should make sure Kehinde pays for what he did to me. I am an orphan. I have no father or mother. I sell Indomie to live. Now, I’ve spent all my money. In fact, I need help she said.

For reasons best known to Kehinde, he started sending friends to Janet’s shop, to beg on his behalf. He wanted her to forgive him and come back. But she refused. Last week Tuesday, Kehinde came to the shop with another friend to beg once more, but Janet told him that she was through with the relationship. Fuming, Kehinde jumped up from his seat, told her that he had nothing against her leaving, but that he was going to deal with her. He made good the threat by dousing her.

The following day, Kehinde was arrested by policemen as he was strolling along the streets of Ikotun.

JAY-Z DIDN'T LIKE ALICIA KEYS' ORIGINAL VOCALS ON "EMPIRE STATE OF MIND"

Jay-Z's a perfectionist. Just ask Alicia Keys. As part of an episode of VH1 Storytellers, the New York-bred songbird recently shared details on her recording session for Hov's "Empire State of Mind."
The God MC asked Alicia to guest on the song, but apparently wasn't satisfied with the first version she submitted. To let Alicia tell it, she was congested during the first recording and Hov reached out and asked her to re-cut her vocals. Keys jokingly told the audience attending the taping at NYC's Metropolis Studios last night (September 13) that she was bothered by Jigga Man's request.
In the end, a classic was born. "Empire State of Mind" earned Jay his first No. 1 single as a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It looks like Jay was onto something

Celebrities Behaving Badly: (Graphic Photos) Rapper Wale Caught Behaving VERY Badly in an ATL Club

Nigerian-American Rapper, Wale, just embarrassed himself, DC, Nigeria and all the many groups he claims to rep for. The foolishness is off the hook. Rapper Wale was just recently at a club in Atlanta and his actions are so embarrassing I bet when he comes out of that stoned stupor he will slap himself hard. So much for all that “I respect ma black sistas” talk he is always going on about. Wale even performed at a women’s empowerment conference back in March of this year. Just leave it alone with all that talk Wale. It’s a bit much and you ain’t even able to stick with it. *Sigh*

Mediatakeout.com caught Wale sucking on the nipple of some groupie in an Atlanta club and he let some of his boys have some too. The foolishness is off the hook.

Box office: Boom times, or bust?

“The Possession” claimed the top spot at the box office last weekend, but we doubt Lionsgate was celebrating. The thriller was crowned champion of the worst box office weekend in more than a decade, with a total that didn’t even crack $10 million. Not exactly bragging rights.

But maybe Hollywood can hope for a turnaround this week: There’s “Finding Nemo” in 3-D, and “Resident Evil: Retribution” opening wide.

True, “Finding Nemo” is a re-release, and “Resident Evil: Retribution” isn’t going to get an audience off Oscar buzz, but that’s not to say fans won’t support. When “Resident Evil: Afterlife” opened in September 2010, it earned $26.6 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com, and recall how well “The Lion King” did when it returned to theaters last September, earning No. 1 its first weekend out with $29.3 million.

If “Finding Nemo” or “Resident Evil” pull in half that, hey — at least they achieved ticket sales over $10 million.

Also opening this weekend will be “The Master,” but it’s in limited release. Do you have plans to head to the movies?

Davido Issues Official Statement About Alleged Arrest Warrant

As you all know by now there have been rumors about an arrest warrant for Davido. These are all false, according to the singer's management. Below is an official statement from Davido & HKN Music:

"I want to assure all my beloved fans and friends that, I am not wanted by the police and no officer in the Nigerian police gave an order for my arrest.

"I went to the police some weeks ago to give a statement and cleared my name. I did not beat up any taxi driver and the lady that hired the taxi driver and all those that are involved in this matter have made statements to the police and none of them mentioned my name except the taxi driver who claims that a large sum of money was missing in his taxi, in fact the lady in question stated that she was not beaten by anyone and that nobody assaulted the taxi driver.

"This is a case of blackmail, and I have resolved not to succumb to any blackmail for money.

"And to all those that are involved in this conspiracy to bring me down, I want to remind you that God Almighty himself got me to where I am today in my music career and you will not succeed in your devilish efforts to bring me down," said Adedeji David Adeleke, aka Davido.
