The Bridge Concepts Nigeria., on Monday launched a discount card for Nigerian Students and Youth Corpers (NS&YC) across the country.

The discount card was launched in collaboration with the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Abuja.

The theme of the launch is ``Creating a Systematic Social Safety Platform for the Youth's".

Mr Bimbo Daramola, the Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, said the discount card entitled students and corps members to access discount on prices of products and services across Nigeria.

He said the organisation had partnered with more than 400 service providers across the country to launch the card.

Ivory Coast hotel shooting: Al-Qaeda claim responsibility for attack which left at least 16 dead

Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the attack that left 16 people dead at a popular beach in Ivory Coast today.

Fourteen civilians and two special forces soldiers were shot by gunmen armed with Kalashnikovs and wearing balaclavas.

Four Europeans, including a French national, and a five-year-old child were reportedly among those slaughtered on the sand bordering three hotels in the coastal city Grand-Bassam.

The North African branch of the terrorist organisation posted a statement online claiming it was behind the deadly assault on Sunday.

"In a message posted on its Telegram channels on March 13, 2016, the group reported that three `heroes' from its group were able to storm the resort," according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors online communications by militant groups.

President Alassane Ouattara confirmed that at least 16 people were shot dead by six gunmen at the weekend retreat, said to be favoured by Westerners, during a visit to the site.

The Côte d'Ivoire leader said: "Six attackers came onto the beach in Bassam this afternoon... We have 14 civilians and two special forces soldiers who were unfortunately killed."

A discovery of giant underwater craters at the bottom of Barents Sea could offer a viable explanation to the disappearance of ships in the Bermuda Triangle.
Scientists have found craters up to half a mile wide and 150ft deep, believed to have been caused by build-ups of methane off the coast of natural gas-rich Norway.
The methane would have leaked from deposits of natural gas further below the surface and created cavities which finally bursts, scientists say.

A new study offers the “strongest evidence to date” that overweight people and short people face social and economic barriers to success because of their size.

Using genetic data from more than 119,000 British people between the ages of 37 and 73, researchers from the U.S. and the U.K. found that higher body mass index is associated with lower income and greater social deprivation, which takes into account unemployment, car and home ownership, and home overcrowding.

Shorter height is associated with a lower income, level of education, and job class. The study, published in the BMJ on Wednesday, reveals that these effects are particularly punitive for shorter men and heavier women.

Several studies have previously linked tallness and thinness to higher socio-economic status in developed countries, but the direction of the association—whether being tall and thin makes people wealthy, or whether wealthy people grow tall and maintain a slim figure because they can afford better food and health care, for instance—was a mystery.

Two teenage sister have been found alive 11 months after they were kidnapped .

Ky-Lea Fortner and Shaeleen Fitch-Fortner, then aged 13 and 15, disappeared last April and were thought to have run away from home.

The pair, who were living with a foster family, were last seen waiting for a bus at their school in upstate New York.

But on Wednesday they turned up just 15 miles away in the nearby town of Vestal, reports NBC News .

A friend of the family was held following the sibling's discovery.

Police said Amanda Hellman, 29, was arrested on suspicion of second degree kidnapping.
