Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Return to Screen, Minus the “Mutant”

If you ask me, Hollywood is feeling awfully nostalgic these days. Last week, it was announced that the Garbage Pail Kids, the filthy little toddlers that single-handedly rendered the Cabbage Patch Kids obsolete in the post-modern world, and this week is has been announced that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are getting a face-lift.

Set for a Christmas Day 2013 release, Michael Bay will take a shot at the turtle franchise but down a completely novel avenue. According to a report, Bay hinted that the filmmakers would be removing the “mutant” aspect of the turtles’ back-story in place of an “alien race” one. Wait, but doesn’t that negate the whole title of the comic book series?

Well, hold on. Bay neither confirmed nor denied that it would indeed be the basis of the new film, but he did elaborate on the fact that kids would believe “that these turtles actually exist.”

Bay stated: “When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny, and completely lovable.”

Someone should inform Bay that kids aren’t as naive as he’d like them to be, especially in 2012. As much as I’d love to think that Ratatouille is a real rat that has the ability to cook me up some divine French cuisine, I’m not buying it and neither is your 10-year-old cousin. That aside, this is great news even if Bay has his over-indulgent little hands in the project. The last two animated Turtles films did well both financially and critically; and with a fresh take, albeit a strange one, it’s clear that there’s still life to be breathed into this amphibian franchise
h, Michael Bay. Already the bane of most fanboys for his explosively ridiculous (literally) Transformers film series, the blockbuster producer has now teased some upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tweaks that will likely merit even more scorn from sci-fi fans. Namely, they won't actually be mutants anymore. Huh?

Bay is directing the new live-action Ninja Turtles film (not to be confused with the weirdly cute new TV series) and spilled a bit about the project at a recent Nickelodeon event. It's safe to say that at least one choice comment about his take on the revered tale of mutated sewer turtles with an odd affection for pizza will likely not sit well with fans.
"When you see this movie, kids will believe one day that these turtles do exist, when we're done with this movie," he said. "These turtles are from an alien race, and they're going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable."

As any Turtle traditionalist knows, the namesake ninjas started out as common turtles that were exposed to radioactive goo and suddenly grew up man-sized. Making them aliens? Seems like a weird and unnecessary move.
That "tough, edgy, funny" bit is also worrying. Anyone else remember the "hip," jive-talking Autobots Skids and Mudflap? Let's not Jar-Jar-up the Ninja Turtles, Mr. Bay. Please.
Sound off: What do you think? Is Bay just putting a spin on an old franchise, or is this just a train wreck waiting to happen?

The Breakfast Club Interviews No Malice About Name Change, Book and God

No Malice, formerly known as Malice of the Clipse, sat down with The Breakfast Club to discuss the new direction he's taking with his life and music.

After watching many of his friends get locked up, the rapper chose to make a transformation with his music and leave his days of gangsta rap behind. "I think what my fans didn't know, what they were witnessing was me battling myself," he said. "I think the content of the stuff the Clipse always talked about, even though it's very real, I think we did it too well and I think some people walked away with the wrong message from that especially seeing our friends, manager and people that we considered family get locked up. It was definitely an eye opener and I really don't want to glorify that like that any longer."

He also discussed his religious beliefs and the demons he battled, which he used to tell a story. His book, "Wretched, Pitiful, Poor Blind and Naked," he says is "phenomenal."

In addition to the book, the transformed rapper also has an upcoming solo mixtape and plans head out on tour.

No Malice even took a little time to freestyle and remind everybody that even though his message has changed, he's still "street." -- Jazmine Gray

Harry Potter Actor Slapped With Jail Time Over Role in London Riots

There's no wizardly spell to get out of this one.
Jamie Waylett, the actor who played Slytherin cohort Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter films, was found guilty of violent disorder stemming from his involvement in last year's London riots.

And though he won't be headed to Azkaban, the actor is going to be locked up...
But there is good news, of a sort. He was cleared of another charge—intending to destroy or damage property with a gasoline bomb.

A hooded Waylett was reportedly caught on camera chugging down a bottle of champagne and wielding the bomb in question during the 2011 riots, which led to the arrest of more than 3,000 people.
In court, the presiding judge, Simon Carr, told Waylett, "I accept entirely the jury's verdict that you did not throw or have any intention of throwing it, but merely being in possession of it would have been terrifying to anyone who saw you."

Disabled Beggar ‘Steals’ Genitals Of 4 Men In Port Harcourt

There was pandemonium in the Rumuola, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, at the weekend, when a disabled beggar allegedly caused the disappearance of the reproductive organs of four men.

Eyewitnesses said trouble started at about 11am last Friday at the Rumuola Junction when a male passerby raised the alarm that his reproductive organ disappeared after he gave alms to a popular disabled beggar.

The loud complaints from the victim immediately attracted sympathisers, who confronted the beggar on his wheelchair.

Three others, one of them a trader, simply identified as Chigozie, also raised the alarm that their organs "vanished" immediately they joined the fray.

The development provoked angry youths of the community, who attacked disabled beggars on the road and anyone who looked like a member of the ethnic group from which the beggar came.

The suspect's wheelchair was burnt.

The unrest was quelled by men of the Joint Task Force and police patrol teams, who dispersed the mob and rescued the suspect.

He was taken to the Kala Police Division with the four victims.

Policemen prevented relatives and spectators from entering the station, a development that further heightened the tension.

The angry youths later stormed the neighbourhoods, searching for anyone thought to be from the beggar's ethnic group, beating them up.

The suspect and victims were later moved to the Military Hospital on Aba Road for medical examination.

Eze Egba, a relative of Chigozie's, confirmed the incident.

He said he consulted a military doctor who facilitated the release of the victims and the suspect.

It was gathered that the medical examinations revealed that the victims' claims were baseless, as their genitals were found to be intact.

Not convinced of the medical confirmation at the military base, the victims were taken to a brothel for further confirmation.

There it was "confirmed" that their genitals were indeed intact and functional.

Contacted on the fate of the beggar, police spokesman Ben Ugwuegbulam said he was driving and could not give any information.

South Africa to deport 56 Nigerians

South Africa is set to deport 56 Nigerians, The Nation learnt yesterday.

The Federal Government has been notified of the planned deportation, which is coming barely two weeks after a row between the two countries.

The deportees, who have overstayed their visas, applied for asylum because of alleged political “crisis” in Nigeria. They appeared before an Asylum Panel in South Africa and their applications were rejected, it was learnt.

The South African Government checked and discovered that Nigeria is not experiencing any political problem to have warranted asylum for any of its citizens.

A source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who pleaded not to be named because he is not permitted to speak on the matter, said: “South Africa has informed us of a fresh deportation of 56 Nigerians. The affected persons will be brought to Nigeria either on Wednesday or Thursday.

“Our senior officers in the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria were made to be part of the process to ascertain that none of the deportees is a victim of any form of injustice.

“The South African Government said it is granting asylum to those from war-torn countries and Nigeria is not on the list.

“In line with our new rapprochement, we cannot force these Nigerians on South Africa. So, we are expecting the deportees soon.

“Deportation is a normal thing when immigrants are found to have either entered a country illegally or overstayed their visas. Some are usually sent back each time they violate immigration laws or indulge in fraud. That is why you see Nigeria deporting illegal aliens like Nigeriens and Chadians.”

South Africa had a fortnight ago deported 125 Nigerians from the Oliver Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg over alleged fake yellow fever vaccination cards

Yourub,Hausa clash in lagos over murded youth

Agiliti, Mile 12, Lagos, erupted in violence that lasted for hours on Monday as some Hausa youths clashed with their Yoruba counterparts.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the clash, which started around 7am, began when some Hausa youths allegedly attempted to dump the corpse of a man they had reportedly slaughtered in the Maidan River.

A man, who declined to give his name, told our correspondent that, “This morning, we were not far from the river when we saw the Hausa youths trying to dump a corpse in the river. We immediately accosted them and demanded to know where they got it from and what happened to the man. The youths told us he was caught during a robbery.

“The body showed that the man had been brutally beaten. It was noticed that he had been slaughtered too. So, we asked them why they killed him and why did they not hand him over to the police if he was a robber.

“Before we know it, the whole area had been roused and we had been overwhelmed by the Hausa youths. We had to leave the scene after some scuffle.”

The youth told our correspondent that the Hausa residents who stayed behind later burnt all motorcycles in sight.

When our correspondent got to the scene, a large crowd of youths, who were speaking Hausa, were seen destroying shops and kiosks on three streets in the area.

A police helicopter hovered in the sky, while nine police patrol vehicles and a Rapid Response Squad’s Armoured Personnel Carrier were stationed at the scene, but this did not deter the youth from destroying shops.

Three streets; Nuhu Oluwo, Oniyanrin and Adeyeye, were completely taken over by the Hausa youth who wielded clubs, pipes and machetes and other weapons while they ransacked every shop on the streets.

Some of them broke into a shop, pulled down the door and carried away two air conditioners they found inside.

Some of the youth also attempt to pull down the roof of the shops.

Our correspondent noticed that they had earlier broken into other shops on the streets. Other youths were seen grabbing loafs of bread in a shop they had broken into.

However, some older Hausa men were seen appealing to the youth to stop the violence.

A youth who brought out an amulet and wore it on his arm, was told to pocket it, while another man, Alhaji Gambo Limani, slapped a youth who broke a bottle on the ground and wielded it as a weapon.

When our correspondent later spoke to Limani, he said, “I had to caution them because most of these youths are hoodlums. They would blow the problem beyond proportion.

“I really don’t know the basis for this whole crisis because I just got back from Sokoto this morning. My main concern is to ensure they don’t cause crisis in this area.”

When our correspondent asked Limani about the whereabouts of the Sarkin Hausa (head of the Hausa community) of the area, he said the Sarkin had travelled.

Our correspondent reports that Oniyarin Street was completely deserted and the majority of the residents locked themselves up in their residences.

When asked why the area was deserted, a youth said, “These people (Hausa men) are many in this area. They inhabit most of the houses here. Anybody who has his life to protect should not attempt to go close to that area.”

Our correspondent watched from a safe distance as the rampaging youths smashed the windscreen of a bus in the presence of the policemen who made no effort to stop them.

The youths spoke in Hausa, occasionally pointing their sticks at the policemen to dare them.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in the state, Mr. Tunde Sobulo, later came to the scene and dispersed the youth. He addressed the policemen and gave them directives on how to man the area.

When our correspondent attempted to speak with him, he simply said, “This is operation. I don’t have any comment to make now.”

But the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Joseph Jaiyeoba, who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone, said the police were being cautious because the clash was between two ethnic groups.

Jayeoba said, “The police got a report early this morning about a corpse of a man that was allegedly killed in Oniyanrin area of Mile 12. Policemen were quickly drafted to the area to remove the corpse. The clash was due to perenial accusations between the Yoruba and Hausa residents.

“In any case, the DCP operations and the area commander have been there to restore peace. The area commander has also invited the heads of the two ethnic groups in the area and all other stakeholders to resolve the issue. Right now the area is calm.”

John Travolta Tries To Pay For Gay Sex

John Travolta tried to pay for gay sex from a masseur at The Beverly Hills Hotel on January 16. The masseur claims that he was hired for John by an intermediary through a Craigslist ad. John took the man to his Presidential Bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel and started fondling the masseur during the massage.

When the masseur warned John that he didn’t participate in sex games or prostitution John said: “Aw, come on. Who’s gonna know?”

Then John asked the masseur of he would ‘pleasure him with his hand.’

The National Enquirer, Print Edition of March 26, reports in MUCH more detail the rest of what transpired during their encounter – but we cannot do that here.

Suffice to say that the masseur said: “Dude, if you don’t get me out of here. I’m going to call the cops!” And John paid the masseur double what he required to…

Who can say if every detail of this story in The Enquirer is true? But time and again John has been accused of frequenting gay prostitutes and participating in man-on-man extra-marital affairs.

UNCOVERED ! JUJU HOUSE WHERE NOLLYWOOD STARS VISIT

Just like what we watch on screens, the practitioners of the Nigerian movie industry are now visiting several spiritualists to excel in their chosen career.

From what we gathered, this practice is now rampant in Nollywood amongst actresses, producers and marketers, pointing to the fact that the industry may indeed be committing itself to a life of heathenism over talent.

Though several places have been revealed as where these stars go but the most popular is now in Onitsha,Anambra State.

On the other hand, the actresses known to be imbibing the same habit do so all in the name of finding fame and making fast money.

These actresses are also said to be in this dirty habit in order to win the attention of very wealthy lovers who would turn their lives around.

Recently,2 actresses who used to be very close had a fight in a movie location in Enugu State where they both washed their dirty linen in public.

Few of their colleagues at the same location, we gathered, heard a lot from them.

They exposed themselves on how they have been visiting spiritualists not just to get roles but to also hook men who can spend on them.

As if that is not enough, they also revealed how they have been helping each other by taking their friends to Onitsha for same spiritual consultations.

Khloe Kardashian Loses The Right To Have Sex With Lamar Odom

Khloe Kardashian is no longer allowed to have sex with her husband Lamar Odom. Lamar is refusing to have sexual relations with his lovely wife in retaliation for what he sees as Khloe ruining his NBA career.

Lamar was sent down to the D-league by playing lousy ball and now he is so pissed off at Khloe that he refuses to have sex with her and is has cancelled his offer to get her pregnant using IVF!

In Touch has more in the Print Edition, March 26: Khloe used to think that Lamar shared her dream of having a baby – but no more. Ever since Lamar was traded to the Dallas Mavericks – and temporarily demoted to the D-League – Lamar, 32, has blamed Khloe and her fame-seeking family.

‘He resents the show for taking his focus off the game,’ reveals an insider of Lamar, adding that he feels it’s wrecked his reputation, as well. And he’s retaliated in the most painful of ways.

Turning away from Khloe both emotionally and physically, Lamar has been denying her sex (her rep denies it.)
‘He really shut down and told her to leave him alone for a while,’ shares a friend. And it’s heartbreaking for sensitive Khloe, who complained on a February episode of Khloe & Lamar that she felt ‘rejected’ when he wasn’t in the mood.

Even worse, the friend says, he has halted their plan to go through IVF – and friends worry they may not stay together long enough to start a family. ‘Khloe is trying to stand by him, but it’s hard,” the friend says. ‘He’s always so angry.’

Do you think that Lamar is to blame for his decline or is it Khloe? In either case should he refuse to have sex with his wife? Let us know what you think in the comments below

Policeman shoots tanker driver over N20k bribe, kills painter with stray bullet

An unidentified police sergeant attached to Area ‘C’ Police Command, Iponri, Surulere, Lagos, allegedly went beserk and shot a truck driver on his left hand and a stray bullet he fired killed another person while he was making efforts to escape from the scene of the incident to avoid being lynched by an angry mob.

An eyewitness said that trouble started when the cop with about five others who were operating in a (danfo) commuter bus blocked the truck with a Lagos registration number RV538 EKY driven by Saheed Mufutau (pictured above). The incident occurred at Jimoh Odutola Street, by PHCN office, Surulere, Lagos on Friday.

According to the source, the policeman, after checking the truck’s particulars and they were up to date, demanded for a N20,000 bribe which the driver pleaded he could not afford because he was in the area to off-load empty containers.

During the ensuing argument, the sergeant allegedly shot the driver in his left hand. Sensing danger, his colleagues in the danfo bus sped off and left the sergeant to his fate.
In his desperate bid to escape from the scene, the cop fired several shots into the air to scare the mob from lynching him. One of the bullets he fired hit Dotun Alawiye, a motor spray painter at a nearby workshop. He died instantly.
The erring sergeant still managed to escape with the help of a motorcyclist he forced to ferry him away from the area.

He was later arrested at Bode Thomas Police Division and handed over to the Area ‘C’ Police Command where he was serving.
Chairman of Artisans Association at Doyin bus stop, where the deceased painter had his workshop, Mr. Gbenga Shoneye, said they heard the gun shots at the bus stop but did not know one of them had been hit by a stray bullet.

“We are appealing to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to ensure that justice is done because the deceased had a wife and four children,” he said.
Wife of the deceased Mrs. Omolara Karounwi, 30, said she was shocked to hear that her husband was killed by a stray bullet because he was an easy-going person who never got involved in any trouble.
“We had been married for 15 years and blessed with four children. How am I going to cope with the upkeep and training of the children?” she wept.
She called on the authorities to ensure that justice is done on the murder of her husband, while also soliciting for the assistance of kind Nigerians on the upkeep of her four children

Ghanian police scandal,The Al-Hajj Got it right… Cocaine suspects remanded

The Al-Hajj has been vindicated in its yesterday's major story captioned “Police in Fresh Cocaine Scandal”.

A follow up investigations yesterday revealed that the three suspects who were arrested with cocaine by the Madina Police on 3rd March, 2012 at a place near East Legon in Accra have been remanded in custody on Monday, 19th March 2012 to reappear in court on a later date.

The three suspects namely, Aryeetey, Owusu and Oweriku (a.k.a Owura) were arrested in a Mercedes Benz car and sent to Madina police station, where the policemen allegedly demanded $200,000 in order to be allowed to escape.

When the Al-Hajj contacted the Madina District Crime Officer last Monday he denied knowledge of any such arrests; this was further corroborated by his Deputy, one Superintendent Amos.

The Al-Hajj, trusting the source of our information on Tuesday March 13th 2012 persisted and followed up with another enquiry from the two officers at the Madina Police station who, in spite of our strong contention, insisted; there was no such case at the station.

However, things took a different turn when, two days later, these same officers admitted that, indeed there was such arrest, but that, the matter was on Wednesday 14th March 2012 taken-over by the Accra Regional Police command.

When the paper contacted the Accra Regional Police, the Deputy Crime Officer, Superintendent Apenteng admitted on Friday, 16th March, 2012 that such a case from the Madina Police is before him and that; one Inspector Suglo is the one pursuing the case.

NACOB officials on that same Friday conducted a test on the substance and was 80% confirmed to be cocaine.

The Regional Crime Officer on Monday explained that the case was transferred from Madina to the regional office as a result of delay in handling it.

He denied knowledge of the $200,000 allegedly demanded from the police in order to let suspects escape. “If there is anything like that then, it didn't happen here”, he added.

He didn't give much details of the case for fear of contempt of court.

We shall update readers of subsequent development.

Eight burnt to death in fatal auto crash in Abaji

TRAGEDY struck Friday evening when six persons from the same family, a six-year-old child and a mechanic were burnt to death in a fatal accident that occurred near Kekeshi village, along Abaji-Toto road.

About 20 other persons, including two children sustained injuries and were rushed to the Abaji General Hospital.

A witness said the accident happened when a Volkswagen Golf car with registration number AU 909 KUJ collided with an oncoming Toyota Hiace bus with registration number XB 576 GML, which caught fire, and consumed eight persons.

He said a mechanic was test driving the Golf car after repairs, adding that he made a sudden u-turn at the centre of the road while a Mack truck was coming with speed and the mechanic swerved off the lane to collide with an oncoming bus, which burst into flames.

Our reporter visited the accident scene a few minutes after the accident and saw the Golf car and bus burning with the occupants screaming for help as they burnt to death.

Motorists as well as bystanders wept profusely as they watched and a passenger that escaped from the bus said some family members travelling from Zaria to Shafa village, in Toto Local Government of Nasarawa State for a wedding ceremony were also burnt to death.

Reacting, Abaji unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Moses Audu, attributed the accident to the dangerous u-turn made by the mechanic, who drove the Golf car.

He said 20 others, comprising of 13 female and seven male sustained injuries and were taken to Abaji General Hospital.

The eight burnt corpses were buried in a mass grave by the accident scene after relatives identified them.

UNCOVERED ! WHY MANY GHANAIAN BABES DON'T WEAR PANTS

It's been a big issue in Ghana for quite a while now that many Ghanaian big babes don't wear pants. This has made a lot pronounced because lately a lot of female musicians have been caught without pants.

Recently, sexy songstress Efya waded into that controversy when an unnamed Ghanaian female musician was captured by News-one camera without any underwear during a public performance.

The artiste's unfortunate choice of wardrobe-clothes without any underwear left her naked s*x organ exposed, but mostly to the sharpest of eyes, including News one cameras.

Efya said it would be hypocritical to say she was not aware that some girls now find it trendy to get all dolled up without wearing panties.

We learnt that the girls call that type of dressing 'ready to fight'.

Efya said it would be difficult to explain why her fellow ladies chose not to wear panties when they dressed up because she had never tried that in her entire life Sometimes girls don't wear panties but I haven't done it before though it is not a big deal. Many girls do it Efya added.

Putting it on record that she had never dressed up without wearing panties suggests that Efya could not be the unnamed female musician who went on stage and was captured exposing her naked p**sy.

When News one asked what her opinion on the issue was,Efya noted Maybe there was a situation but I don't think it was intentional. I have not tried it before and I will not do so in the future because now everybody will be looking out for which artiste is wearing panties and who is not because it has happened to someone. I will not dare do that

Various reasons have been given as to why several Ghanaian girls in recent times dress up without wearing panties and the most common of reasons seems to be that the panties make them feel uncomfortable, depending on the type of clothing they wear.

The section of Ghanaian girls who dress up 'underwear less' mostly do so when they put on jean trousers or any other tight trousers.

The explanation is that the outline of the panties through the trousers is distasteful.

Dr Sid speaks about the disolution of Mo'Hits, reacts to Don Jazzy, Dbanj split

Hip hop artiste, Dr. Sidney Esiri aka Dr. Sid, has reacted to the split between the co-founders of record label, Mo’hits, Don Jazzy and Dbanj.
Dr. Sid is a dentist and member of the Mo’Hits group.
Dr. Sid said in posts on his Twitter account, @iamdrsid, on Monday that Don Jazzy, whose real name is Michael Collins, had not been given adequate appreciation for his contributions to the success of the label.
He, however, did not speak further on the rift between Don Jazzy and Dbanj (real name – Dapo Oyebanjo).
Don Jazzy had in a post on Twitter on Saturday, March 17, 2012, confirmed speculations about his split with Dbanj.
Dr. Sid, however, said the split had put all members of the Mo’hits family in a sensitive position.
The unedited tweets read, “DonJazzy is d most important piece of Mo hits, who doesnt get the credit he deserves, without his creativity a lot of things will not exist.
“that being said i will not be commenting on the issue of the mohits situation for now pls respect that its a very sensitive time for us all.”
Interestingly in his biography on his website, Dr. Sid recounts how he moved to the United Kingdom after becoming a dentist and worked “with the likes of JJC & the 419 squad, Felix Duke, KAS, R70 music group and a then Unknown D’Banj.”
He also states how he “signed onto Don Jazzy’s Mo’ Hits records alongside D’banj, Wande Coal, Kayswitch and D’Prince and featured on 7 of the 15 tracks on the Mo Hits Allstars CV (Curriculum Vitae Album), and featured in the videos for Move your body, booty call , kpere and Close to you.”
