LYRICAL WARFARE : Reminisce Battles Vector

After what has looked like a passive feud time for Hip-Hop in Nigeria, things are heating up once again. No Thanks to rappers Vector and Reminisce.

Just two weeks ago, Remilekun ‘Reminisce’ Safaru and Olanrewaju ‘Vector’ Ogunmefun were at each other’s throats throwing verbal attacks back and forth.

The story goes that Vector had dropped a subliminal diss on Sauce Kid’s ‘Street Kitchen’ reacting to a previously released song by Reminisce titled ‘2 mushh’.

‘Eyin ata, ani Tomato, to ma to’ (You are pepper, we have tomato to cool down the pepper)’, Vector took jabs at Reminisce who had talked about his song being ‘hot like pepper’. In a swift response, Reminisce released ‘Ata (pepper)’ taking it a step further by sampling Vector’s subliminal and then going on to call out his name while dissing him back.

Vector responded on Twitter ‘I sow the truth, why would I reap lie? (Reply)’.

Discussions have popped up on Twitter and Facebook, as fans have begun drawing comparisons between both rappers; others are trying to figure out the genesis of the ‘beef’.

‘We have nothing to say’ Vector’s record label YSG told NET but sources close to the rapper say ‘Reminisce just wants to rub off Vector’s buzzing career’. We placed calls to Reminisce’s phone but he never picked up.

Vector has in the last year risen to fame after the release of his 2011 debut ‘State of Surprise’, a follow up single ‘Angeli’ with 9ice has further increased his commercial appeal.

Reminisce who is signed to Edge Records has also been having it good in recent times; His ‘Kako bi chicken’ single is receiving airplay and his debut ‘Book of Rap Stories’ is an anticipated record in the hip-hop world.

Both rappers performed live on stage at the recently concluded ‘Bashorun Gaa Versus’ concert but were never seen together. ‘The atmosphere wasn’t tense but it looked like they were both on guard’, a source backstage told 3m360

‘Fellyx And Mozzyx’ Star in Critical Condition, Loses Both Kidneys

A few weeks ago, we reported that Moses, one half of the popular 90′s music duo FELLYX & MOZZYX was critically ill after being diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and some other complications.

Sadly, his situation may have worsened as those cloese to him say his two kidneys have packed up, with the level of damage nearing its final stage.

Moses urgently needs a kidney transplant as undergoing dialysis has become very risky.

The ailing musician is however still hopeful; believing fervently that God has already healed him, according to those close to him. In some of his hospital pictures, his guitar is even seen close to his bed. We’re told he plays it once in a while.

Moses needs your support to stay alive. He is asking Nigerians, friends, colleagues and well-wishers to contribute to this cause financially, and in any other way.

Thai Taxi Driver Returns $410,000 in Gold to Owner

A Thai taxi driver Friday returned 8.2 kilograms (18 pounds) of gold ornaments worth around $410,000 to their owner who had left them in his car three days ago, police said.

Bangkok cabbie, Saksri Ketsrikaew, 56, said he spent two days driving around Bangkok searching for the owner because he had no contact number, reports AFP.

He said he contacted community radio after he learned gold shop owner, Eakerat Kanokwattana, 60, had filed a complaint with police and the story of the missing gold hit local headlines.

But police were not convinced he had a heart of gold.

"His excuse doesn't make sense if he intended to return the gold to its owner as he knew where they got off," case officer Lieutenant Colonel Udom Sukprasert told AFP.

"They are checking and counting the gold now."

Eakerat, who owns a gold shop in the city of Ubon Ratchathani, came to Bangkok with his wife to do a gold trade in Chinatown and got a taxi on Tuesday evening to the northern outskirts of Bangkok.

But he later realised he had left his bag full of gold ornaments in the taxi and offered a reward for their return.

Television news Friday showed a relieved Eakerat giving the taxi driver gold worth around $6,400 as his reward.

Panic in Lagos over Bomb in Ikeja

Commissioner of Police Lagos State Police Command Yakubu Alkali

There was panic in Lagos Friday evening over suspicion that an explosive had been planted in a building in the Ikeja area of the state.

The bomb was allegedly planted in Awolowo House on Obafemi Awolowo Road, Ikeja.

It is located close to the bridge in Ikeja.

The building was immediately evacuated, with the vicinity cordoned off. Pedestrians and motorists were told to make use of alternative routes.

But the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Jaiyeola Joseph, said there was nothing to worry about.

Joseph said that the rumour started after a man dropped a carton around the building and left.

He said some people raised the alarm that it must be a bomb, hence the panic.

The Police Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately despatched to the scene.

Nothing deadly was found, Joseph told Eagle Online.

Lady Gaga Wants Husband And Bazillion Kids

Right now, she’s ridiculously busy being disgustingly famous and taking over the world with her sick tunes and outfits made of raw meat. But that’s not all she’s after in life. Lady Gaga wants a husband and a bazillion kids—but now just isn’t the time.

The Daily Mail has the highlights from her interview with Oprah Winfrey, where Gaga said, “Yes, I want kids, I want a soccer team and I want a husband.”

But don’t think she’s in any rush to put her amazing career on hold. “I want to experience that, [but] not yet,” she explained.

Settling down like that right now would drastically change everything about Gaga, and I think all of us can agree that with how successful she is, now isn’t the time to be putting her music career on hold (or giving it up all together) to start a family. I’m sure it’ll happen eventually, though!

Do you think Lady Gaga will make a good mommy?

George Clooney ,Father Arrested in Protest at Sudanese Embassy

Hollywood movie star George Clooney has been arrested at Sudan's embassy in Washington at a protest about the escalating emergency in Sudan.

The Sudanese government has been blocking humanitarian aid from reaching a volatile border region where hundreds of thousands of people are short of food.

Clooney, his father Nick and other activists ignored three police warnings to leave the embassy grounds and were led away in plastic handcuffs to a waiting van by uniformed members of the Secret Service, a journalist covering the demonstration said.

"We need humanitarian aid to be allowed into the Sudan before it becomes the worst humanitarian crisis in the world," Clooney told reporters just before his arrest.

"The second thing we are here to ask is for the government in Khartoum to stop randomly killing its own innocent men, women and children. Stop raping them and stop starving them. That's all we ask."

Clooney, who on Wednesday was a guest at the White House banquet in honour of British prime minister David Cameron, posted bail with several others and walked free later on Friday.

"You never know if you are accomplishing anything ... We hope it helps," Clooney told reporters after his release, adding that the arrest was his first and "let's hope it's my last".

Activists have drawn parallels between the current crisis in Sudan's Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile provinces with the violence almost a decade ago in the western region of Darfur, where Khartoum sparked international condemnation by violently suppressing a rebellion in a conflict that the United Nations estimates killed some 300,000 people.

The United States has voiced serious concerns about the deteriorating conditions in the border region, where Sudanese troops are fighting rebels aligned with its newly independent neighbour South Sudan.

Clooney, who recently visited the area, told a Senate hearing this week that Sudan's forces were launching repeated attacks on unarmed civilians and preventing aid from reaching a region where US officials say as many as 250,000 people face severe food shortages.

Clooney, a long-time celebrity activist critical of the Khartoum government, had been expected to provoke police into arresting him.

Protest organisers said that others arrested on Friday included several US congressmen, the son of slain US civil rights hero Martin Luther King Jr, and veteran human rights campaigner John Prendergast, the co-founder of the Enough Project.

Bobbi Kristina's Kissing Her 'Brother'-Lover As She Flaunt Her 'Suppose' Engagement Ring

Bobbi Kristina steps out in public for the first time with her not legally adopted brother, Nick Gordon who is obviously healing her broken heart in the wake of her mother's death.

The 19-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston, who was sporting a ring on her wedding finger, is rumoured to be secretly engaged to Nick Gordon, 22.

Their union, however, is causing concern for some - with Bobbi's grandmother Cissy Houston having apparently branded their relationship incestuous.
In a public declaration of their love, they were seen kissing and holding hands as they put on a tactile display.

Angry youth destroy Same sex marriage ceremony in James Town Ghana and chase the two lesbians

Angry youth burst in on a same sex marriage ceremony in James Town in Accra early Monday, sending the couple and guest alike fleeing.

The attack came while the two marrying women were exchanging rings and vows, at the dawn ceremony.

The enraged youth, including females, wielding sticks, canes and other implements later marched through the neighborhood, amid local songs, which targeted lesbians.

According to the James Town Police, the mob arrested the two girls, a 19-year-old and a 16-year-old who attended the ceremony and demanded that the police arrest all other lesbians in the area.

The two girls have been detained at the James Town Police Station.

Speaking to the Times, the James Town District Police Commander, Franklin Addei, said that the youth brought a petition to the police requesting that lesbians in the area be arrested.

“We told them that there is no low that forbids lesbianism and, therefore, we could not act on their request,” he said.

Mr. Addei said the police advised them to instead send the petition to the chief of the area who could call those involved and advise them to desist from such practice.

The police commander said the police were aware of such practices in other communities such as Bubiashie, Kaneshie, Chorkor and Mamprobi, but there was very little they could do.

Nii Tackie, one of the protestors told the Times that they were determined to flush out all the lesbians. “We will not allow this thing to continue in the area,” he said.

Sackey Quaye, another anti-gay activist, said the lesbian activities often brought about confrontations between men and women in the community.

“Their activities are depriving us of women. Anytime a man decides to go after a woman in the area, these lesbians will pounce on him and beat him up.

“We cannot allow this to go in the area. The women use money to lure young girls into this bad habit and deprive us. It must stop,” he insisted

Rihanna Explains "Birthday Cake" Remix With Chris Brown

rihanna explains why she reunited with Chris Brown on the remix to "Birthday Cake."

Rihanna recently spoke to Ryan Seacrest on his 102.7 KIIS radio show to plug her upcoming film debut Battleship. During the interview, the Def Jam songstress spoke on her controversial decision to re-team with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown on the remix to her song "Birthday Cake" and Brown's "Turn Up the Music."

Although their recent collaborations confused many listeners given Brown's 2009 assault case against her, Rihanna explained that it only made sense to work with her former beau given the style of the songs. She added that the collaborations are innocent and meant to be a bridge between his and her fans.

“The first song that came about was ‘Birthday Cake.’ I mean we ended up recording them at the same time and executing them together, but I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake’ because that’s the only person that really - it made sense to do the record," she explained. "Just as a musician despite everything else that was going to be the person. You know I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track, and then in turn he was like ‘Why don’t you do the remix to my track?’ and it was a trade off. We did two records. One for my fans. One for his fans, and that way our fans can come together. There shouldn't be a divide. You know? It’s music, and it’s innocent.”
