“I’m in pain, but I’m happy”: Hollywood actor, Jet Li, battling serious health issues

Jet Li
Chinese action star and martial arts hero, Jet Li, has said that he is being treated for an overactive thyroid, but he is determined to fight the condition head-on.
The superstar who is known for his kung fu skills,  discussed his diagnosis during the recording of a talent show he is judging in China.
During the recording of the show on Tuesday, the 50-year-old actor appeared to have a fuller face and heavier frame. He said his weight has fluctuated but he is taking it all in stride.
Li, even  joked about his weight gain and said “I’m fat, I don’t have the time to lose it. It’s a fact!”
According to a Daily News report:
He explained that exercise is not advised with the medication he’s taking. An overactive thyroid, or hyperthyroidism, causes changes in a person’s metabolism and heart rate, among other symptoms, but is generally treatable with medications.
Li was diagnosed in 2010. He kept his condition under control with medication, but it came back with a vengeance recently.
He said that he’s tackling his illness head-on. “I’m just a regular guy, I’m not Wong Fei Hung, I’m not Huo Yuan Jia (kung fu heroes he portrays on film), I’m not a hero. I’m just like you.”
A martial arts champion at a young age, Li turned to acting and began showing off his kung fu skills on big screens in the 1980s.
Jet Li (center), pictured in ‘Unleashed,’ can’t exercise while he’s under the treatment.

He catapulted to fame in the ‘90s with the “Once Upon a Time in China” films where he portrayed martial arts master Wong Fei Hung.
His Hollywood career includes such titles as “Lethal Weapon 4,” “Romeo Must Die” and more recently “The Expendables 2.”
Li confessed there are times he’s unsure if he’s able to carry on with work, but he’s determined. “I’m in pain, but I’m not suffering. I’m happy,” he said.

Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole just survived a terrible Accident

Accidents! Accidents! Accidents! Why now, what is going on just in the last few days about 5accidents have been recorded. This time it is Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole survived a motor accident at Ewu Village along the ever-busy Benin-Auchi road in Edo State at about 9.45am Saturday, 28th December 2013 on his way back to Benin City from his Iyamho Village.

The incident occurred at about 9.45am at Ewu, in Edo Central Senatorial District, when a Peugeot J5 Bus filled with tomatoes and plantains apparently lost control and rammed into the Governor's Flag Car from the opposite direction before swerving into a roadside ditch.

Three vehicles in the Governor's convoy were in front of the Governor's Flag Car and had passed the Peugeot J5 Bus before it [J5 Bus] had direct impact with the Governor's car, which had the Governor, his Aide-De-Camp [ADC] and his Driver as occupants.

The Governor's Car was badly affected but both occupants of the Peugeot J5 Bus and that of the Governor's sustained no injuries.

The Peugeot J5 Bus was following a truck that was descending the Ewu Slope when it suddenly veered off into the Governor's lane from the opposite direction and directly impacted on the Governor's vehicle, apparently because of brake failure.

Fortunately, none of the passengers in both vehicles sustained injuries. The Comrade Governor is hale and hearty, his ADC and other occupants of the Peugeot J5 are also in good condition.

The incident has been reported to the Divisional Police Station at Ewu for further investigation. This is to assure all good people of Edo State that there is no cause for alarm.

Their loving Comrade Governor is fine, hale and hearty as well as other occupants of the other affected vehicle. The Comrade Governor is wishing everyone a prosperous new year ahead. Signed

10 Shocking scandals of 2013

The year under review was indeed characterized by many scandalous and controversial incidents; from the mundane to the abominable. SHOWBIZPLUS brings you an overview of the messy events and the characters involved.
Tonto drunkenness, half nude, fall on stage
Rivers State-born entertainer, notorious for high-voltage controversies, Tonto Dikeh, became one of the climaxes on stage at the AY Live Comedy and Music Concert which held on Easter Sunday at Eko Hotel and Suites. To the consternation of her teeming fans and fun seekers, Tonto stepped on the expansive stage clad in skimpy white panties that exposed a lot of flesh, thus leaving her almost naked.  She matched this with a wacky sleeveless white shirt, black bow tie and sneakers in sync with her dancers. Caught in the euphoria of the moment, the controversy-loving entertainer carried on unconcerned as she struggled to pull up her straining waist-length panties to cover her lower butt from spilling out of the very tight attire.
That was not all; few months later, she was given an opportunity to perform on stage at the Iyanya concert in London. Obviously drunk, she slipped on stage and fell. It was an awful experience for her as the media went frenzy with her big fall.
Solomon Akiyesi’s multiple wedding scandals
Within the year under review, one of the most bizarre wedding scandals occurred. The print and social media were awash with stories of Nollywood actor, Solomon Akiyesi, whose secret wedding to mistress, Uloma Agwu, was aborted by his legally married wife, Lilian Akiyesi.
The bizarre occurrence which continued to generate ceaseless uproar happened on Saturday, April 13, when Lilian stormed the Overcomers Church World Outreach, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos, to halt a wedding service meant to join her husband with his mistress, Uloma Agwu, as husband and wife. Another woman later showed up and also accused the disgraced actor of getting her too engaged in a sham marriage proposal.
Paternity mess: Paul of P Square’s denial of baby mama
Few weeks after welcoming his first new born baby in Atlanta, US, Paul of P Square had another baby delivered for him in a London hospital by a former beauty pageant contestant, Elshama Benson Igbanoi. However, Paul blatantly refused to claim paternal responsibility for the baby boy. His abandonment of baby boy trended heavily on social media.
Sources close to the 19-year-old and former Miss Plateau State disclosed that her family had contacted Paul Okoye's father and aunt to persuade the musician to accept responsibility for his baby. Elshama also insisted that she never slept with any other man, adding that she lost her virginity to him when she was 17 years old.
Genevieve bares it all
Perhaps, if she had an inkling of the shame and controversy that would befall her outfit on that fateful night, Nollywood star actress, Genevieve Nnaji would have had a rethink before donning that boobs-exposing gown that became her biggest nightmare at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) ceremony that held in Lagos.
The dress revealed a little more than just cleavage. It showed some flesh too. Denrele's question to Genevieve didn't help matter either-he had the guts to ask if she was wearing a bra!
Iyanya and Yvonne Nelson’s war of words
Iyanya’s freestyle in England where he sang thus: “Yvonne Nelson, I lost your medicine. She called that she’s coming over and I ride her like a ‘jangolova.’ All I want is your waist, no emotions, no tears, no letters, no love, no nothing. All I want is your waist, she ain’t even know it. She brought emotions,” was indeed one of the most trended controversial freestyles in 2013.
The once upon a time lovers, Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson and Kukere Master, Iyanya, were at daggers drawn over their love gone sour and traded words over same.
Chidinma’s sex tape scandal
A s*x video went viral within the year which allegedly featured the Kedike singer, Chidinma Ekile. The video was circulated all over the web and trended heavily. However, on a closer look at the video, fans finally came to conclude that the lady in the tape was only a Chidinma look-alike, and not the singer herself.

Mercy Aigbe’s public assault
The heated and funny controversy between movie actress Mercy Aigbe and controversial blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus’ was fierce and also trended heavily. Stella had reported that Aigbe’s enraged hubby, Lanre dragged her out from a club, threw her into his SUV and drove angrily out of the venue whilst shocked onlookers watched! This Aigbe vehemently denied, both in words and video.
Bisi Ibidapo, Dino Melaye’s paternity mess
It is no longer news that  Bisi Ibidapo Obe gave birth to a baby girl sometime last year and insisted the child belonged to the former House of Reps member, Dino Melaye, who shockingly denied being responsible. This was like a season film that lingered and trended more in 2013, with lots of the messy details blown out of proportion.
Maheeda’s nudity
On October, 27, the notorious Maheeda put up some nude photos of herself on her Instagram page ‘for her fans’. In one of the images, which showed an exposed male member, she expressed that the photo was of a fan ‘worshipping at her church on Sunday’. That was not all; she went on and on, uploading her nude pictures which expectedly continued to get the desired media attention.

Real reasons angry Benue youths beat up Terry G

Terry G

More facts are beginning to emerge on the real reasons Nigerian pop singer, Oche Gabriel Amanyi popularly known as Terry G, was allegedly beaten by angry youths last weekend in his home state of Benue State.
The singer who was at the IBB Square, Makurdi for Benue Youth Fiesta, was reportedly attacked while performing on stage.
Eye witnesses revealed that the singer was attacked as he was performing on stage. The angry youths suspected to be hoodlums began to throw sachet water on the musician and later broke bottles and charged towards him.
Though no reason was given for the shameful act, sources have revealed that the self acclaimed “Akpako Master” is not like by the youths in his state.
They have consistently accused him of being stingy and not supporting the fledging careers of emerging acts from his state.

One of the attackers was alleged to have squealed to an insider that they will continue to attack and disgrace Terry G, until he embraces change by helping local acts

LOCKPORT, La. - A nurse embroiled in a custody fight with his ex-wife killed his current wife before shooting his former in-laws and his onetime boss in a rampage that spanned two parishes in Louisiana, leaving three people dead and three wounded. He then fatally shot himself in the head, authorities said.
All three survivors remained hospitalized Friday, two in critical condition, Brennan Matherne, a spokesman for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, said in an email. He said deputies are still investigating the motive.
Preliminary evidence shows that Ben Freeman, 38, first killed his wife, Denise Taylor Freeman, 43, before he went on a rampage and shot the others Thursday, Maj. Malcolm Wolfe, of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, wrote in an email.
Denise Freeman's body was found in a bathroom of their house, and an autopsy showed that she suffocated and drowned, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said Friday.
Ben Freeman then attacked his former in-laws with a shotgun in Lafourche Parish about 45 miles southwest of New Orleans, wounding parish Councilman Louis Phillip Gouaux (pronounced "go") and Gouaux's daughter Andrea, Matherne said. Louis Gouaux was shot in the neck, while Andrea Gouaux suffered spinal damage, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Both were in critical, but stable, condition after surgery Friday in New Orleans, Matherne said. Gouaux's wife, Susan, was dead when deputies arrived, he said.
About 20 minutes after the first shootings, Freeman arrived at the home of Milton Bourgeois, CEO of Ochsner (OX-ner) St. Anne General Hospital in nearby Raceland, about 8 miles from Lockport. Bourgeois was shot and killed at close range; his wife, Ann, was shot in the leg and was listed in stable condition at a hospital, Matherne said.
Bourgeois had been CEO of the hospital in Raceland since 1988, Giselle Hecker, spokeswoman for Ochsner Health Systems, said in an email.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said Freeman worked at the hospital as a registered nurse until 2011, when he was fired. He said police had been called there previously after Freeman damaged a room. Freeman told officers he would seek mental help, Webre said.
But in a teleconference later Friday, Ochsner officials said Freeman had resigned voluntarily, citing personal reasons. The officials said he had worked at the hospital from May 1998 to April 2011, and that he was considered an on-call employee for another five months after that.
Freeman also had worked at two other hospitals, which along with St. Anne had been placed on lockdown for a time on Thursday.
Susan Gouaux — "Pixie" to her friends — was a teachers' aide at Holy Savior Elementary School. She also was a talented needlewoman and knitter who designed the state bicentennial quilt square for Lafourche Parish and made scarves for all her friends, Parish President Charlotte Randolph said in a telephone interview.
She said that she went to school at one time or another with both Philip and Susan Gouaux, and that Susan Gouaux taught her grandchildren. The couple has six adult daughters.
Gouaux called 911 around 6:40 p.m. Thursday from his home in Lockport, telling dispatchers he had been shot in the throat, The Courier newspaper in Houma ( reported. Freeman was divorced from Gouaux's daughter Jeanne, whom he married in 1997.
Jeanne (ZHANNE) Gouaux — also a nurse — had filed several protective orders against Freeman, who had pleaded guilty to harassment charges and was allowed only supervised visits with their four children, Webre said. The last protective order expired less than a month ago, he said.
"Clearly, there has been a very difficult and complicated divorce/custody issue going on," Webre said during a news conference late Thursday.
Freeman pleaded guilty on Oct. 23 to one of two criminal telephone-harassment charges brought on a complaint filed June 19 by Gouaux and her father, Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court Vernon H. Rodrigue said. He was given a deferred sentence of a $250 fine or 10 days in jail, put on unsupervised probation for a year, and the second count of criminal harassment was dismissed, Rodrigue said.
On Nov. 27, Ben Freeman was issued a citation for simple battery domestic violence against Denise Freeman, the sheriff's office said in a news release. A court date had been scheduled for Jan. 16, 2014.
Court records show Freeman agreed in June to pay Jeanne Gouaux $22,560 in overdue child support payments dating back two years. A settlement filed the following month showed the couple would sell three adjacent lots near her parents' house and split the $25,000 in proceeds; Freeman also agreed to pay Gouaux $39,000.
Jeanne Gouaux and the children lived with her parents for a while after the divorce, said Rita Bonvillain (BAHN-vee-yenh), 83, a neighbour of the family for nearly 30 years. She said Andrea Gouaux, a nurse like her sister Jeanne, was visiting from Texas.
Whenever a holiday came, she said, children filled the house and yard. A trampoline, soccer balls and a swing hanging from a big oak in the front yard testified to that.
Bonvillain choked up and held back tears several times as she talked about the Gouauxes. Since her husband died, they regularly have stopped by to ask if she needs groceries or other errands run. The councilman once told her, "If you ever hear a sound at night and want someone to check it out, call me," she said.
Ben Freeman was found dead around 10:45 p.m. along U.S. Highway 90 near Bayou Blue. He had shot himself in the head.
At Denise Freeman's house, a man who did not give his name demanded that an Associated Press reporter leave his sister's property.
Others in the neighbourhood of quaint middle-class, ranch-style houses in Houma, the Terrebonne Parish seat, said the house was originally hers.
She had only recently married Freeman, but she and her son Josh — of elementary school age — had lived there for years, said Glenn Cradeur, who has owned his house, two down from hers, for 28 years. He said he believed the boy was not home when his mother was killed.
Cradeur said he saw no signs of trouble until about two weeks ago, when he saw police vehicles outside the home, responding to what he believed was a domestic dispute.
He returned from a visit to out-of-town relatives to find emergency vehicles outside the house and stunned neighbours gathered nearby.
"It's shocking, and it's sad," he said.

Crash Of Comedienne Princess's 7-Month Marriage

Fresh reports indicate that the marriage of popular Nigerian comedienne Princess has crashed.
Photo: Comedienne Princess's marriage crashes
Princess (real name Oluwadamilola Adekoya) and her hubby Shola have  reportedly gone their separate ways putting behind them the 7 month-old rocky union.
NET investigations reveal that trouble started about two weeks after the wedding in May, 2013.
According to the information provided by insiders, the marriage was characterised by endless disagreements, often requiring the intervention of friends and family.
"It’s been 7 months of a series of efforts to mend the broken marriage until it was obvious that it was beyond repair" one insider disclosed.
Commenting on the situation to the NET correspondents, Princess confirmed the separation, saying
"Yes my marriage has ended due to irreconcilable differences."
She admitted that the union has not been as blissful as many thought, but the two remained together as they hoped it would work out.
"But apparently, we couldn’t work it out, hence the reason for our separation. We actually ended it several months ago, but we didn’t want to make it public. I’m sure God knows best," she added.
A few months ago it was reported that Princess was pregnant, an allegation, which she denied.
Princess and her hubby, Adeshola Jeremiah got married on May 8, 2013 in a widely celebrated wedding which was attended by the First Lady of Lagos State, Abimbola Fashola and other top comedians.

7 Women changing the way you use technology

And live your life

Do you have what it takes to change the way we use our gadgets? These seven women are some of the most power technological titans in the world.
Times, they are a-changin'! In the past, women have been grossly underrepresented in the technology sector, from engineering to major websites, but earlier this year, InfoWorld reported that thus far in 2013, a vast majority of the new hires in the tech sector have been women according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics. To celebrate, we've rounded up a list of seven inspiring figures in the field.
Marissa Mayer

Marissa Mayer

In 1999, Marissa Mayer became the 20th employee and first female engineer of the now ubiquitous Google. She worked her way up the ranks from engineer to designer to product manager, eventually landing a coveted executive position, where she became the company's key spokesperson.
Recently, Mayer lit up the nerd-osphere when she left her long-time position to take the reigns at Yahoo as president and CEO. In 2013, she was ranked No. 8 on Fortune's list of most-powerful businesswomen in America.
We can see why. According to the Huffington Post, Yahoo is currently beating Google in traffic. We're not sure what she's doing right, but Google had better figure it out — fast!

Suzanne Russo

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could open an app on your smartphone and know exactly how much energy every electronic device in your home was using? Suzanne Russo thinks so. This green goddess is the brain behind Pecan Street Research Institute, where it has outfitted 1,000 volunteer homes with advanced energy-monitoring equipment. Better yet, Russo's organization has just started gathering data from lower-income individuals, who are usually left out of the equation when it comes to technology advancements.

Padmasree Warrior

Padmasree Warrior was born and raised in southern India. After obtaining her bachelor's degree, Warrior earned a master's in chemical engineering from Cornell University. She started her career at Motorola as one of only a handful of women working at its Arizona branch. She's now been with the company over 23 years, working on a multitude of cool projects, including a stint as the corporate VP and chief technology officer in the semiconductor products sector.
Current CEO John Chambers has put Warrior's name at the top of the list of his successors, saying to Forbes, "Warrior is among the sharpest technology persons in the world."

Selina Tobaccowala

One of Bloomberg TV's women to watch, SurveyMonkey's Selina Tobaccowala got her job with the leading creator of web-based surveys while she was pregnant with her first child in 2009. Fast-forward almost five years, and she now leads a team of engineers in creating online solutions to offline problems with a focus on putting the end user first.
Tobaccowala has been programming in high-level languages, like Pascal, since the tender age of 10. She started a company we've all heard of, Evite, from her dorm room in college.

Sheryl Sandberg

COO of Facebook Sheryl Sandberg has been with the company since 2007, when she met founder Mark Zuckerberg at a Christmas party. The rest, as they say, is history. Her purpose at the company was to take a "really cool site" and make it profitable, and that she has.
After adding ads to the mobile newsfeed, the company earned an impressive 18.4 percent share of all mobile advertising revenue. Her book Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead, a follow up to her 2010 TED Talk, sold over 150,000 copies in its first week.

Rashmi Sinha

Rashmi Sinha cofounded SlideShare, an online method of sharing Word, PowerPoint and other presentations, which was sold to professional social networking powerhouse LinkedIn in April 2013 to the tune of $119 million.
But Sinha's background isn't in programming. Indeed, she has a doctorate in neuropsychology from Brown University. After creating MindCanvas, a game-like survey platform used for customer research, she was apparently bitten by the tech bug. Fast Company recently named her one of the World's Top 10 Women Influencers in Web 2.0.

Brit Morin

This up-and-comer may not have achieved what all the other ladies on this list have... yet... but it's only a matter of time. Brit Morin, called "a millennial DIY-er with the digitized touch" by The New York Times, isn't quite 30 yet, but she's already making headlines as this generation's Martha Stewart meets Marissa Mayer. Her company, Brit + Co., is dedicated to making all things DIY available online. Her staff makes its home away from home in 9,700-square-foot headquarters. Not too shabby.

Co-hosting The 2013 Headies is the Worst Thing Tiwa Savage has Done with her Career?

This is a pretty strong review of the recently completed Headies with an F grade score for Tiwa Savage. Did any AML persons attend? Your thoughts?

Headies Tiwa Savage Dr Sid Co hosting The 2013 Headies is the Worst Thing Tiwa Savage has Done with her Career?
“First of all, it must be known (regardless of your view or personal sentiment about the event) that the Headies Awards sets a record that corporate partners should now strictly observe while they contribute value and support to the Nigerian music/entertainment industry. So, to set the record straight by Headies’ standard, sponsorship contracts should now include: event organizers must return the sponsors’ money with a 5000 page apology letter if the event looks like the 2013 Headies awards. Simple.
Choosing the worst hosts for a live TV program wasn’t the only thing that flawed the brilliant lighting effects at the Headies last night, Nigeria’s “biggest music awards” had no spectacle on a performance list that included Praiz, Waje, Olamide, Phyno etc. Where ever they got those dancers from, whoever got the costumes, whoever arranged the choreography…those are the worst of their kind!
Having known it as the prestigious Hip-hop World Awards over the years, nothing had prepared me for the flop that was set to heat up my TV as I thought HipTV was about to screen a live fashion show when the lights beamed on the Headies runway. It would take Dr Sid’s mediocre stage presence while introducing the live show for anyone to actually know that that was the 2013 Headies.
Seeing what the first fifteen minutes of the awards looked like, I’m not one with the patience to endure the uninspiring TV moment the Headies was obviously set to offer so I switched the channel and didn’t catch up with the whole live broadcast on HipTV. I would almost conclude the audience probably got themselves caught up in the wrong place and they had to walk around the stage (and block the cameras) to see if this is exactly what they came for, or maybe they want to be sure this is the awards they actually paid to see. I can imagine if one of the ushers had tried to restrict any of those audience from roaming around the stage. “If I slap you” wouldn’t be any more justified a response.
While co-hosting the awards easily turned out to be the worst thing Tiwa Savage would do with her career (well, she was paid for it), the audience also became colder and the performances nosedived as the sound trailed off as often as the Headies technical crew couldn’t keep a hold of it, nominations won’t beam on the projector screens, awards recipients took forever and a last breath to find their way to the stage and awards presenters got lost while looking for the exit on stage.

More Trouble in Paradise for Kerry Washington and Nnambdi?

Kerry Washington may not be married
The last time we visited the subject of Kerry Washington’s suspicious marriage to unemployed footballer Nnamdi Asomugha, rumor had it that Washington was allegedly being blackmailed by Asomugha, who was unceremoniously booted off the San Francisco 49ers team.
Now comes word that Asomugha is complaining bitterly that the ‘Scandal’ actress spends way too much time on her career while he sits at home thumbing through the wanted ads.
Washington is pregnant with Asomugha’s spawn. But the fact that Washington and Asomugha are never seen together in public fuels rumors that their marriage is a smoke screen.

From The National Enquirer:
“Nnamdi is complaining [Kerry] has time to promote her TV show, business ventures and charities, but she rarely spares an evening to be home with him.”
According to the source Nnamdi said he is concerned that they are already growing apart.
“Instead of slowing down during her show’s Christmas hiatus, Kerry funneled her extra time into her fashion consultation business and her responsibilities as a creative consultant for Neutrogena cosmetics,” said the source.
“Kerry feels she can balance a public life and private life with Nnamdi and their baby,” said the source. “But Nnamdi is not convinced. They’ve had several blow-ups, and each time Kerry swears she’s going to slow down. “But in the end she may lose something that doesn’t come along very often – a loving husband.”

Miley Cyrus Tweeted Out a Topless Picture, Y’all
Here’s how Miley Cyrus sends her holiday greetings: By tweeting out a topless photo. It’s basically a hype for a documentary called Free the Nipple, an NC-17 rated documentary about the censorship of topless women.
In other news, this is probably the least risque thing Miley Cyrus has done this year. Can’t wait to see her attention-whoring game in 2014. We expect it to be stunning.

IAC PR Director, Justine Sacco Sacked By Employer Over ‘Aids In Africa’ Racist Tweet

 – IAC PR Director Justine Sacco Fired By Employer Over ‘Aids In Africa’ Racist Tweetjustine sacco sacked aids in africa
An American Internet company, Inter Active Corp aka IAC has fired Justine Sacco, their PR director who shared a racist tweet on Twitter yesterday.
In the controversial tweet Justine Sacco said:
“Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white!”
Moments after the tweet, her Twitter account was immediately deleted but the deed has been done as the offensive tweet went global.
Ryan Trostle, the spokesperson for IAC who confirmed Justine Sacco’s sack said the company has zero tolerance for racial abuse.
“The offensive comment does not reflect the views and values of IAC. We take this issue very seriously, and we have parted ways with the employee in question.”
“There is no excuse for the hateful statements that have been made and we condemn them unequivocally,”. “We hope, however, that time and action, and the forgiving human spirit, will not result in the wholesale condemnation of an individual who we have otherwise known to be a decent person at core.” – Ryan said
Fellow co-workers have tagged Justine a dumb woman for making the offensive remark in the public.
Justine Sacco is out of job and guess what, her trip to Africa has been cancelled.

From dust to gold story of Nigerian designer, Chris Aire’s success in Hollywood

Known in Hollywood as the ‘King of Bling’, Nigerian-born jeweler, Chris Aire has stars such as Angelina Jolie, 50 Cent Shaquille O'Neal as well top sport stars on his clientele list.

Nigerian jeweler Chris Aire (right) during a show of some of his designs.
How did he start?  "I had my little coach bag," Aire says. "I had everything in it 'cause seriously I didn't know any of these guys. So walking up to them you really have just a minute -- if even that -- to say 'yo, this is what I've got,'" he adds. "I had instances where people thought I was selling hot items -- 'this dude out here man, he's got some stolen stuff.'". Read MORE.

I Love Sexuality, But I'm Spiritually Inclined"-Singer Maheeda As She Insists She Is A Gospel Singer And Releases Even Raunchier Christmas Photos(18+)

This Maheeda babe is as ridiculous as it gets.
The controversial singer(real name Caroline Sam), known for posting nude pictures on the internet told Galaxy Television why she loves to pose nude, and insists she is a gospel singer. See what she said below:
"I'm not posting those nude pictures on the internet to teach people to start going naked, I posted them because I felt I am sexy and I love sexuality. In Europe, where I live, at a certain age, parents will start to teach their children about sex education. But it is unfortunate that I came from this part of the world where sentiment is attached to everything.
I’m 31 years old and I can’t pretend to behave like a baby or something. I’m sexy and I like it. I’m still spiritually inclined and I have some gospel songs which are not out yet. One of them is Papangolo. Those nude pictures you see is Maheeda. That is me. I am just expressing myself. I’m sexy and I am only appreciating that fact because I love sexuality.
She also released even more raunchier Christmas  photos. See them after the cut. 18+

The truth about Saidi, Fathia’s feud

It is no longer news that the simmering feud between ex-spouses and colleagues Fathia and Saidi Balogun is back on the boil. The truth however is that the stories being circulated contains mostly half-truths and has nothing to do with what is really going on between the two. The story is that the two actors are in court over the right to the name ‘Balogun’. As you know, Fathia after seven years of divorce continues to use Saidi’s Balogun’s surname. But indications from both of them show  the issue is not quite what it is touted to be.
What probably escalated the matter is the press release earlier sent out by Fathia which reads, “Our attention has been drawn to media reports where Saidi Balogun claims that he knows nothing about the media reports that he is in court with our client Fathia Balogun. We will like to put the records straight.”

The error is, the release did not mention which case was in court. Many quickly deduced that the case is about the usage of the surname. But when both parties were reached by Box Office, the matter was clarified. The two in fact have remained legally married even after the breakup seven years ago and were in court recently to finalise the divorce.
When we reached Saidi he said, “I was accused of lying to the press on a recent rumour that has been circulating. I separated from my ex-wife Fathia Balogun in 2006, over seven years ago. Since we were legally married in court, we had to legally divorce in court to finalize the issue. The public is welcome to go to the Lagos High Court to verify these records. This has absolutely nothing to do with any name. I am not asking or forcing Fathia to stop using the name Balogun, as it is one of the most common Yoruba names,” the fair completion actor said.
Fathia too appeared shocked at the way things turned out. When reached, she expressed surprise at the direction the story had been going. According to her, most of what she knew about her changing her name and going to court, she read in the papers. “I don’t know where they get all these stories from,” she said.

Both Saidi and Fathia have two children together and both bear Balogun, their father’s surname. Fathia had a child before marrying Saidi. Saidi also has more children after the break-up. The two maintain they remain friends and good colleagues. “Their children and their jobs will continue to put them in each other’s way whether they like it or not,” a fellow actor and friend of the duo said.
