He started grabbing everything and throwing it at me" ... including a salt and pepper shaker, she says.  She continues, "Before I could get away from him he poured a water bottle on my head and threw it at me." You're After Me Because I Refused Your Sexual Advances...Jim Iyke Replies Habiba Abubakar

The picture above displaying Nollywood actor Jim Iyke in an alleged Police net surfaced on the internet following sarcastic shout outs he gave to a married businesswoman named Habiba Abubakar whom he had an unsuccessful 15 Million Naira business deals with.
Habiba had last week released documents and pictures of Jim Iyke at the police station.

Jim Iyke has reacted to all the allegations by the married woman, claiming the story was false.

Jim Iyke stop shouting out on twitter and start shouting in my N16.5M and then leave me alone ooo
I run a charity organization called Elderly and the poor, a self-sponsored charity organization. Jim Iyke needed help for his aged mother who is crippled by leg problems and high blood pressure and now bed-ridden.
We took her to both England and India — photos and tickets are attached as exhibit (1). During the UK visit, his mum stayed with me in my UK residence where I took her for a complete health checkup.
We were told what was wrong with her and how much her hospital stay for knee replacement will cost my charity in UK and we have a policy for money, so we decided to take her to India in first class because it’ll be cheaper there, attached are tickets, photos as exhibit no (2).
During her stay she narrated her life story to me. She told me, “Hajia I have suffered. My children have suffered. I have been frying doughnut (beans cake) by the roadside for many years to raise my kids. Please help me and my only son Ikechukwu (Jim Iyke).”
I wept and wept with her. She held my hands on top of her Bible and said to me, “Hajia, promise me that you will help me and my children and promise me now that you will be my daughter forever.”
I was touched. I was obliged by her honesty, frankness, and trust she has in me, so I promised her that I will be there for her and her children, which includes Jim Iyke.
So when her son Jim Iyke finally ran to me for assistance, wanting me to help his new clothing line grow by investing in it, I had no option than to invest, even though I was told by many people that he is bad, but I didn’t want to judge him by what others said.
Jim told me he has been on the street since age 11 and that he had no childhood. I cried, because I had a son of that age at that minute. It was really heart breaking. But I realize now that you can take a person off the street but you can’t take street off the person, no matter what you do.
Video of our conversations with his mum is available at www.elderlyandthepoor.org, register and listen.
Normal human being would remain very grateful to me for helping his whole family and investing in his business. If not for what I did for him but for the fact that her sick mother and a blind father were flown abroad at some my expense, including three of his sisters and him.
During these trips he happily tweeted, “Jim Iyke on holidays with my family”…can you see the joy in his tweets? At least his tweets proved that I made him and his family very happy.
So I’m not bothered by anything he says or does now. My investment in his clothing line has now turn into loan, no interest, no profit and I’m stuck with him for 4 years — since the agreement states that he must paid all the money back with the next four years.

In the north, if a person just passes by your dad or mom and just greats them that person deserves your respect, but after what I did for Jim and his family, it’s sad that he decided it this way.
Another thing I want to add for clearance sake is that Jim has been living off women all his life. Most of these women don’t tell their husbands all they do, so when he dupes them they can’t run to the police or their husband, but my case was different.
I arranged for a meeting between him, his friend Solo and my husband (for video of the meeting, go www.elderlyandthepoor.org.

Where are the camouflage women he hangs out with just to disguise his real wants and needs. He runs to tweet rubbish. I give facts and support with documents. He wants to shut me up with his so-called “shout out” that made no sense to even his twitter followers who fired him back that same night. He wants me quiet so he can continue business as usual.
Everybody doing business with Jim Iyke be careful, his first trick goes, bring the money cash, I will send my sister or PA to pick it, don’t. Because it was only the tellers that I used to pay in the money into his account that helped me, because he first denied collecting the money and even knowing me.
The Police ordered that he be handcuffed and be taken to his bank to collect his bank statement for us, it was only then that he said, “Oh it could be one woman who is interested in me and I don’t like her, may be her, in fact, I can’t even remember her name.” (a woman that gave you N16.5mil you can’t remember her name?) Later he changed his story again that the woman gave him only N5m.

More when you scroll down
See how police arrested him and wrote to his bank, exhibit no (3).
All he is playing is to keep business as usual including his manager, because it’s only in Nigeria that celebrities can commit crimes and go scot free. Abroad nobody will work with you, once your attitude is below expectation. Jim is supposed to be a role model by every standard. At 40 years old, he’s no longer a baby, but he is not showing any maturity in his dealings.
Was there any place Jim ever denied apologizing? No, he was just covering it up by saying I apologized as a gentleman because of the bad words I said. What bad words and to whom?
In fact, he wrote a public apology twice because the first one he said To Whom It May Concern which was rejected after publication, see attached exhibit no (4).
It was rejected, because we expect he knows whom he was apologizing to, and not to whom it may concern. So he ran with the last one apology to me. Do you think Jim who is running mouth now will apologize if he didn’t know he was on his way to jail?
See attached hospital reports after his assault on me, exhibit no (5).
Fraud was very clear and substantiated, because he went and rented a three bedroom bungalow with one living room and he calls that mall. To show he planned to defraud me, he rented the place in someone else’s name. The person signed as his guarantor at the police station after he was arrested and spent two days in SAS.
I was shocked when I learnt that Jim told Mr Ken that he will not pay me the money, and that that was why he won’t put anything in his name. So that when I come, I won’t be able to get anything.
The guarantor got scared and ran back to the police by withdrew from standing in for Jim, which necessitated his second arrest a day to the opening of the shop. See evidence attached as exhibit no (6)
Be careful in doing business with Jim Iyke and demand a teller or a written contract, because he only signed that contract between us when he saw tea no bi food. He was discharge and not acquitted.

Five Nigerians Perish In Horrific Car Fire – Group Was Coming From Arondizuogu Convention In New York

A Mercedes Benz sports utility vehicle travelling at high speed hit a concrete support, rolled over and burst into flames killing five of the seven passengers including two children, on Sunday in New York City.
Occupants of the car had come from the just concluded 2-day convention of the Arondizuogu Patriotic Union National Congress of North America.

Later that day, members of the group were in mourning as they entered and left the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where three of the survivors of the accident had been brought.

A grieving Inno Chima, a participant in the Saturday night gala, was quoted to ask: “Did God go to sleep on us?”

The accident occurred around 3:15 a.m., and the police believe the S.U.V. was speeding, the authorities said. Witnesses told investigators that the vehicle ran two red lights shortly before the accident, which occurred on Atlantic Avenue just east of the Van Wyck.

The vehicle struck a concrete support for the AirTrain to Kennedy International Airport, and flipped a number of times before coming to rest on the passenger side about 80 feet away, authorities said. Then it ignited in flames.

During an interview outside the hospital, Mr. Chima said there was “casual drinking” at the Golden Terrace banquet hall, on Atlantic Avenue less than a mile from the accident site. But investigators do not believe that alcohol played a role in the accident, and emergency personnel did not detect the odor of alcohol at the crash scene, a law enforcement official said.

On the sidewalk outside Jamaica Hospital, Evelyn Anyaogu, from the Bronx, said she was a cousin of one of the people who died in the accident. Ms. Anyaogu identified her cousin as a Michigan woman, Nnenna Obioha, who was in her 50s or older.

“She has the best heart in the whole world,” Ms. Anyaogu said.

Ms. Anyaogu recalled how festive the night had been at the convention. “We danced our native dance,” she said, adding that it was a “very, very good time.”

But those memories quickly evaporated when Ms. Anyaogu received a call from the authorities to “tell me what happened.”

“How do you cope?” she added.

One mourner emerged from the hospital crying and chased several news photographers, threatening to hurt them

Robbery Gang REVEALED: How we were caught after renewing our charms on penetration of bullets

LAGOS  State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a notorious robbery gang that have been on its wanted list, recovering five AK 47 riffles and nine magazines. The gang that specialized in operating in almost all the parts of the country, reportedly started as an eight-man gang. But two of them have reportedly been killed in separate shoot-outs.

The arrested suspects who were paraded before journalists at the Lagos State Police Command, weekend, did not mince words in revealing their separate roles in the gang.  One of them, Wale Adeniyi, revealed that he was the gang’s hit man.

27-year-old Taofeek Bukola said he was the gang’s driver while 20 year-old Oladun Agemo declared himself as the gang’s armourer. Luck ran against them while returning from a herbalist’s home where they had gone to renew their charms on the penetration of bullets, before going on an operation in Ogun State.

In this interview with Crime Alert, Taoffek said he was tempted to join the gang because of his inability to get money for his mother’s medical bill. He claimed that he lost his father years back, leaving his mother to cater for him and his four siblings.

But along the line, he said his mother had a mental problem which confined her to a herbalist’s home. Since then, he said he had to cater for himself, his wife, two children and his siblings. But meeting some of the financial obligations of his mother, like buying of herbs and other things was the most tasking.

He said: “As a result of this, I would work in the bakery until 6am and then work as commercial bus driver, shuttling between Oshodi and Iyana-Ipaja. Yet I could not meet up, as I normally got N1500 to N2000 everyday, which I used to feed my family. Then three months ago, I met Akin who introduced me to the gang. My job was to drive them to the venue of the operation, wait in the car while they went in and drive immediately they came out.

“So far, I have gone on operations in Ibadan, Ogun and Akure with them. In the first operation, I was given N150,000 and in another one I was given N70,000 while in the third one I was given N100,000. The money shared at the end of each operation depended on how much we realized in the operation. We usually operated with information. We don’t just go to anybody’s house.

…The suspects
“On the day of our arrest, I drove them to Ado where they said they were going to renew their ‘ijaya’(charm to instill fear on their victims) and also that which will not make bullet to penetrate into them. It was on our way back to Otta that we were arrested.”

Asked where he got money to buy the vehicle, he said he got it from the sale of his mother’s family plots, regretting that he was likely going to die. When 20-year-old Oladun Agemo was approached, he simply stated that he was the gang’s armourer, and that he had never gone on any operation with them.

He said: “They only give me their guns to keep at the end of each operation. When they come to keep it, they would give me N4000 and at times N5000. The guns are owned by Akin. He is the president of the gang. I met them when they came to have their hair cut because I am a barber.”

Asked what lured him into the gang since he at least, had a means of  livelihood, he kept quiet, then said: “I regret everything now. The money I got was used only to eat. I did not even use it to buy a car. My only pain is that my four-day old son may not grow up to know his father because as it is, I do not know if I will come out of this alive.”

The third suspect, Wale Adeniyi, who could barely talk owing to the excruciating pains from the bullet wounds he sustained during exchange of fire with the police, said he was the gang’s hit man.

The 28-year-old Akure born who seems to have spent longer time with the gang than his colleagues, said he was into smuggling business at the border before joining the gang. Although he did not say exactly how many lives he has wasted during operation, he only maintained he was the gang’s best hit man.

Gang’s best hit man
He said: “Whenever we were going for an operation, I was usually given a riffle first before any other person. This was because of my boldness. It was Akin, our leader who introduced me into the gang.”

At this point, he kept quiet, clinching his teeth in pains. After a while, he shook his head, signifying he could not talk again. He tried to lift up his leg where he sustained the gun shot wound but could not. After a while, he laid on the floor and said:

“I knew this day will come. But what I did not know was how soon. When it clocked one year of my joining the gang, I started  thinking of leaving them and returning to my smuggling business because I was getting tired of always watching my back in fear all the time. And to think that a policeman once warned me to leave this business, oh God, it is regrettable.”

He  managed to say he got N400,000 to N600,000 in some of the operations with the least amount being N100,000, adding that his greed to have more led him to his end. Efforts to further get more information from him failed as he just gave a blank stare, apparently unsure of police next move.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Manko, said the police was still carrying out a manhunt for other members of the gang. The command, he said, was taking proactive strategic measures to curb criminal activities in the state by taking the war to robbers hideouts

Say hello to your new ‘Idol’ judge …

Mariah Carey is just full of announcements lately.

The 43-year-old singer and mom of twins recently revealed on Twitter that she has a new song, called “Triumphant,” set to arrive in early August, and she’s also confirmed that she’ll be a new judge on “American Idol.”

“It’s gonna be so much fun working on @AmericanIdol,” Carey posted Monday afternoon. “As a singer-songwriter, I’m excited to help find and nurture new talent.”

In a statement confirming Carey’s new gig, Fox’s President of Alternative Entertainment, Mike Darnell, called Carey “the real deal,” while “Idol” executive producer and creator Simon Fuller added how “proud” they are “to have one of the world’s greatest-ever female singers join our show. Mariah defines the word ‘Idol’ and will inspire every singer that has the honor of performing in front of her.”

Carey’s new role as an “Idol” judge has been widely speculated for weeks, to the point that her husband Nick Cannon even joked that the Fox series may not be able to afford her. “That’s a lot of money,” Cannon kidded with TMZ. “If they gave J. Lo $20 million, they might have to double that!” We’re sure the rumors on Carey’s payday will start flying any minute now.

Carey will join Randy Jackson, the one “Idol” judge remaining (for now, at least), at the judges’ table in January 2013. Earlier this month, both Lopez and Steven Tyler announced they were departing the show.

Was Carey the right choice for a judge?

15-yr-old twins slaughtered in Yobe

Damaturu — Residents of Nasarawa ward of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, yesterday, woke up to the shocking news of the slaughter of twin teenagers by yet to be identified persons.
The state Commissioner of Police, Patrick Egbuniwe, who confirmed the incidence in Damaturu said the command was suspecting members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect.
He also revealed that the oldest private school in the state, Yobe Children’s Academy, had also been burned down.
According to the Police boss, the cases of night killings and burning of schools are on the increase in the state capital as the hoodlums no longer use gun or explosive devices but resort to slaughtering of their victims as sounds of guns and bombs often attracts immediate response by security agents.
The Commissioner of Police who wondered why the attackers will slaughter 15-year-old set of twins said the incident occurred at about 10pm on Saturda.
He also stated that the Yobe Children’s Academy was set on fire around 11 o’clock of the same day.
A staff of the school who spoke on condition of anonymity said 30 classrooms were razed as only the staff room, library and laboratory were spared.
The school, according to him, has pre-nursery, nursery, primary and secondary sections and currently with over 3,000 student population.
He expressed grief over where the students will write the Junior Secondary School Examination slated for today.
The school was established in 1992 and at the moment is one of the leading institutions with good academic records with several of its products excelling in high institutions at home and abroad and internationally.

Katherine Jackson Located, Is Safe With Family

Katherine Jackson

Law enforcement is satisfied that Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson's mother, is OK.
After Katherine's nephew Trent reported that the 82-year-old matriarch went missing late Saturday night, saying she had not been heard from in a week, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department tells E! News that investigators were able to locate her, and that she is safe with family.
Investigators also tell us that they are continuing to gather information and communicate with family members.
Jermaine Jackson took to Twitter to elaborate that his mother was not missing at all, by saying, "Let me put to bed today's nonsense: as I made clear some days ago, Mother is safe and well in Arizona with her daughter and our sister, Rebbie, resting up on doctor's advice, so it is beyond me how she can be reported 'missing.'
"This incredulous claim was made for reasons best known to the adult/s who filed it but it seems no accident that it comes after we, the sons and daughters, put in place care-taking for our own mother, taking her to Arizona in line with doctor's advice following a check-up."
"Furthermore, it dismays me that such an alarmist 'missing person' report has caused unnecessary anxiety among Michael's children who will understandably react to what they misunderstand, hear or are told.
"No-one is being 'blocked' from speaking with Mother. She is merely an 82-year-old woman following doctor's orders to rest-up and de-stress, away from phones and computers. Everyone has been well aware of this within the family, but I would like to reiterate my reassurance to the outside world that Mother is fine. In the meantime, thank you for all your thoughts and concerns."
We (along with some other family members, we're sure) are just glad to hear that Katherine is safe and sound.

Nigeria Police release dedicated email address for whistle-blowing, crime reporting

The release of the address, policemonitor@npf.gov.ng, came few weeks after Mr. Abubakar made his telephone number (08059666666) public, although some people who tried to reach him said the number had consistently failed to connect. In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, said the new address is part of efforts by the leadership of the Force “to promote access to justice, transparency and accountability in matters relating to policing and general crime fighting”.He assured users of the e-mail that information provided through the medium would be treated with almost confidentially and the anonymity of their providers respected.Mr. Mba said the address should be used only under the following circumstances.- When providing information on the activities of criminal groups, terror gangs or other forms of organized crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, human trafficking, advanced fee fraud, arms trafficking etc.- To report cases of breach of public peace or imminent breach of public peace.- When providing information relating to ongoing criminal investigations by the Police and other law enforcement agencies, also when reporting the conduct of Police personnel or the conduct of personnel of other law enforcement agents involved in corrupt and other forms of unlawful acts.- In commending members of the Force for acts of gallantry or other forms of exemplary or exceptional conduct displayed in the course of their duties,- In reporting cases or incidents of electoral offences or other matters related thereto advising or commenting on matters relating to national security especially when such matters have direct bearing with the activities of the Nigeria Police.” The statement urged potential users of the email to ensure the integrity of their information and make conscious efforts to avoid providing false, malicious or deliberately misleading information to the Force. It also warned users to be ”guided by the higher virtue of patriotism, selflessness and ultimate service to the community, taking steps to ensure that they act in good faith at all times.Mr. Mba warned “that established cases of deliberate falsehood or intentional misrepresentation of facts may attract reprimand and in extreme cases, outright prosecution in courts of law.”“It is the belief of the IGP that the effective use of the new email address will help in checkmating excesses of law enforcement personnel, encourage free flow of information between the public and police managers, and ultimately promote efficiency and better service delivery,” he added. The statement urged the public to take advantage of the new communication channel in exposing the ills of the society and partnering with the Police to tackle them.

War of the First Ladies: Patience Jonathan sets for foundation laying on land revoked from Turai Yar’dua

image

Nigeria’s First Lady, Patience Jonathan, will this week host wives of other African leaders in Abuja during which a foundation laying ceremony would be performed on a land in central Abuja that has become a subject of deep acrimony between her and her predecessor. The contentious land, allocated to Mrs. Yar’Adua’s Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation (WAYEF) in February 2010, was revoked by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed, in November 2011 and immediately reallocated to Mrs. Jonathan-led African First Ladies’ Peace Mission after President Umaru Yar'Adua died and his wife slipped into political irrelevance. Mr Mohammed said he revocated the allocation in overriding public interest with Mrs Jonathan saying she wants to build the secretariat of the First Ladies Peace Mission on the land.On November 23, 2011, Mrs. Yar’Adua’s WAYEF sued the FCT minister, his ministry and the Attorney General of the Federation challenging the revocation. On March 5, 2012 , Justice Peter Affen of the Abuja High Court granted an injunction restraining the Minister or any other person from affecting the title or interest of WAYEF over the plot of land pending the determination of the case. But in spite of the ongoing litigation and petitions to the police by Mrs. Yar’dua, Mrs Jonathan is now set to effectively take possession of the land.To that effect, Mrs Jonathan has approached the court, through the Federal Ministry of Justice, asking it to discharge the restraining order on the land or make an order of stay of execution of the interlocutory injunction it earlier granted Mrs. Yar’Adua’s NGO.In an affidavit in support of the motion, Mrs Jonathan, through Ballah Ali, a litigation officer in the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, informed the court that she would be hosting African first ladies from 24th to 27th July and that a foundation laying ceremony would be performed on the land during the period.“The image of Nigeria may be adversely affected in the community of Nations if this injunction is not vacated and the foundation ceremony is truncated,” the affidavit said.Mr. Ali said the land in question was first allocated to First Ladies Peace Initiative when Mrs. Yar’Adua was its president but that she converted it to the use of her personal NGO.He said on learning of the previous allocation, Mrs Jonathan reached out to Mrs Yar’Adua “who conceded to a revocation as the Minister of the FCT was prepared to give her another allocation.“Subsequently, the first lady’s attention was drawn to the injunction obtained by the plaintiff after she was made to believe that the matter had been resolved.”But Mrs Yar’Adua’s NGO is insisting that it remains the current and bonafide owner of the land and that the minister has no power to retrospectively revoke a right of occupancy. Its lawyers claimed that WAYEF obtained the requisite approvals, and paid the statutory N184million to the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) for the right of occupancy. It is also contending that “a purported notice of revocation of a right of occupancy on alleged public interest must disclose the fact and nature of the alleged overriding public interest in order to be valid.”The court will rule on the Attorney General’s application for a vacation of the restraining order on Tuesday.
