LIONEL MESSI’S FAMILY REPORTEDLY ATTACKED BY CHILE FANS

Members of Lionel Messi’s family were reportedly attacked on July 4, Saturday, during Argentina’s clash with Chile in the Copa America final.
According to Goal.com, the incident happened during the first half when relatives of the Barcelona’s forward were verbally insulted by supporters of host nation Chile.
After an angry verbal exchange, Messi’s 28-year-old brother Rodrigo was hit by one of the opposition fans. Therefore, security had to move the Messi family to a television cabin during the interval for their own safety.

Family members of Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero’s were also insulted by supporters of the Chile national team.
Leonel Messi, in his turn, was handed some rough treatment by the rival defenders and was struck in the chest by a violent kick from Gary Medel in the first half.
It is worth mentioning that Argentina national team disappointed its fans last night as they tasted defeat on penalties in the tournament’s showpiece.
